Surprisingly analog for a digital magazine

Fifty-year Fan

It is rare when I visit this site that I can accomplish a goal without trouble and confusion. When customer service responds it's usually, "we know... we've fixed it for the next release." Signing out and signing back in seems to resolve most of the access and availability issues. I seem to recall that the early days of going on-line/digital only were much less fraught with inconsistencies and gremlins. AND OH YEAH, You can deep six the scrolling banner now. It takes up way too much space and is nothing but distraction.

Great App

A very helpful magazine for every MAC user....

Don't waste your money

This is the worst app I have ever owned. You need to contact Macworld to fix your subscription every month. Even then it is iffy. You start to read your issue, then the next day it fails. You lose your access and the magazines in your library. Save your money.

App is worthless

Macworld Digital Magazine

The Macworld Digital Magazine application makes it easy for consumers of the publication to get access to monthly issues whether by monthly, yearly subscription or single issue purchase. Upon launch the app takes you to the main page which is divided up into the magazine store and your issues. If you are a current subscriber or have a account with Macworld you can view and/or restore issues purchased in the past in the your issues section. Users of other digital magazine applications will be familiar with the layout in terms of being to make purchases, preview issues and more. The archive is solid with issues dating back to early 2012 for purchase. It would be nice though if the archive would be extended to not just more years in the past but special issues as well such as ones covering the death of Steve Jobs. The app is unique in that it allows you to access the Macworld You Tube Channel from inside. With You Tube channels being an important part of branding and customer engagement these days it is nice for applications to provide quick access to them.

Easily the worst!

krsing99

This is the worst I've experienced in years! What kind of "digital subscription" requires a user to spend a half hour to figure out how to successfully download an issue and then - AND THEN - after downloading, refuses to allow you to re-read a "DOWNLOADED" issue again, but instead when trying to again access it, displays a rotating "Busy" icon but never shows the content again? Instead you have to delete your "copy" (yeah, sure!) and re-download it. This seems to qualify as a scam. And then the actual content - very light weight stuff. Not at all what I expected. So... I write "customer service" (so called) asking to cancel my subscription. I do this twice (so far). Each time I get an acknowledge email but nothing from an actual person with a resolution. My advice: AVOID THIS APP AND ITS SUBSCRIPTION. Buyer BEWARE!! Wish there were ZERO STARS possible as a rating. This is 2017. How could I have missed news articles like "IDG shutters Macworld Magazine, much of the editorial staff let go" dated 2014! Guess I now know why the app and service is so bad!

1984 reader

I have the earliest Macworld magazines and subscribed for years. I so looked forward to receiving copy by mail. After going digital, I kept the subscription for awhile. I hardly ever read it after, the digital format was not very easy to use. So it made no sense to keep it. I am sorry to read all these negative reviews now and add to it. With this new version, it seems I can no longer see my earlier digital copies.

Worst app ever

Yankee New Englander

I have subscribed to Macworld since its first issue in 1984 but the current app is such a disaster making it impossible to read my issues that I am probably stopping my subscription after over 33 years. When I select VIEW on any issue in my library, all I ever get is a blank white screen. These kinds of bugs shouldn’t be happening given how long this new and ‘improved’ Macworld app has been out. The original app worked perfectly but they clearly wanted to employ a more general app used for multiple publications that has only made it even less likely for readers to want to bother paying for digital content. Come on IDG/Macworld, get your act together and fix this app! Your authors and readers deserve better!

Links Don’t Work!

High Yo Silver

I’m very disappointed in this app. The previous methodology for viewing the magazine allowed for watching short videos and the links allowed you to go the the expanded information site. I would also like to be able to select/copy and paste excerpts but to no avail in this app.
