Does not function as advertised

Sides&drink

I was really excited to get my hands on this. I spent the money on the hardware, only to find the latest version of the app is barely functional. Please please please update!

I cannot find the saved files or images after clicking save on spot metering. Where can I find them on iphone?

Lumu Power? Where?

Did Kickstarter for Lumu Power well over a year ago. Original date was June 2016. Well, it's now almost June 2017, and still no Lumu Power. If I ever get one, I figure Apple will have stopped using Lightning connectors on the iPhone. So, from my perspective, this app is currently crap.

It did take some time to get to us but it was worth the wait great product and amazing team behind. They are reaching out to there customers to better improve the product which is always a good sign. Keep up the good work and look forward to updates!!

Excellent meter and app

Bone in Its Teeth

I've had the new Lumu Power light meter for a few weeks now and feel confident that it's everything they advertised. I am very impressed with the low-light capabilities of the Lumu Power, just as I was with the original Lumu. *None* of my other handheld meters can match it when metering in very dim conditions; in fact, the only meter that even remotely came close was the built-in meter of my Leica M7, which I sold last year because I preferred to use the Lumu instead. I have yet to find a lighting condition where the Lumu Power wasn't correct, even when cross-checking its results against those from other far more costly light meters. Highly recommended.

I am a Lighting Director and DP working in film and television in Los Angeles. I preordered the Lumu Power last fall and finally received it last week. It was a long wait and I began to wonder, but it has proved to be well worth the wait! I can tell you that this meter has replaced my more expensive hand held light meters. Both the physical Lumu Power and application are well thought out and expertly crafted. And are spot on with my standard meters. I appreciate that it took longer for them to deliver, because they needed to refine the product to be up to high standards. With some further refinements this is the light meter of the future.

Excellent

This app works well with the Lumu Power. The flash measuring and chromaticity measurements are very handy. The app design is simple and intuitive. I am impressed.

Very good light meter app. Few suggestions

MOST IMPORTANT! PLEASE add an "analog" style shutter speed/aperture display option, so that you can see all the equivalent combinations of shutter speed and aperture at once. It's SO painful to have to scroll through settings and almost impossible to do one handed with an iPhone 7 Plus. I want to be able to pull my phone/meter out of my back pocket, click the volume button to take a reading, and instantly have ALL the possible exposure settings at a glance without any scrolling or button pressing. The "my light meter" app has this and it's such a great feature. Second, would be great to be able to take two readings and see the difference in stops between them. Third, it Would be really nice to be able to use the phone's volume button to take/hold a reading. Not sure if you can do that with the Power inserted or not, but it's very difficult to hold an iPhone 7 Plus in one hand and tap the "hold" button.

Small device - big results

I have used a Minolta Flashmeter IV for years but needed the ability to measure color temperature to better match ambient and artificial light. The Lumu takes up 1/6th of the space and yet is much more capable. It allows me to understand the color temperature of the ambient light, balance flash and ambient, and obtain precise measurements of light intensity. I can use it for constant or strobe light sources as well as for video. If there was a downside it would simply be that its size is so small, I'd be apt to lose it if I'm not careful. Customer service has been phenomenal - any questions I have had have been answered quickly and the company is very open to suggestions about requested features. It is one of my favorite additions to my camera bag in years!

Works well as intended.

The only thing I was not happy entirely, because it does not measure flash light color temperature.
