First of all, this app is phenomenal. Second of all, whenever you open the app, and have earphones in a very loud and painful high frequency noise is emitted. I was wondering if you would be able to fix this problem as soon as possible. Thanks

Seems stable although they did not ship the Lumu yet... I'll review again once product arrives...

My previous review was based on my mistakes. I'm updating it now to 5 stars. Great app and seemingly accurate when the Lumu dome is attached. I gauged it against my Fuji x20 and they were in sync. Of course, the Fuji was reading reflective light and the Lumu incident light. Still, they were in sync. Once I figured out the app, all is good. I love having a light meter and dome for my iPhone. Good job.

the structure of the app is functional but could use work in my opinion, first of all, the fact that theres tremendous inaccuracy of (in my experience) about a couple stops, that in itself if a huge obvious detriment, hoping the update for that fix will come soon. Also as you cannot set the iso value below materials under 50 are left to do the extra work to find their own exposure by counting stops from 50 iso, any infrared film users as well speciality slow films all are left out to inconveniently count stop compensations, ive heard over people prefer there be lower iso options than 50, i think at least to iso 6, couldnt imagine that being a difficult change. One last thing, half stop increments should be added as a choice, not all film photographers are using the later film cameras with third stop exposure options, rolleiflex and leica M film shooters are left out to use only full stop increments because of the inability to expose within thirds of stops, so they can only deal with full stops, those film shooters unable to shoot thirds of stops should at least be able half stops. Thank you. Update: regarding the underexposed mis readings, i was told to add +1.2 stops to compensate the underexposure, when i did this, it actually added -1.2 stops; ridiculous, how can something so simple like exposure compensation be written backwards? This is all very poor of an experience. I will raise my review when a much needed update is promptly released.

Downloaded the app and fired it up. Plugged in the Lumu pod into the microphone port (as the init instructions said), and was using it within a minute. No user manual needed — “it just works” :) Tested against my Canon 5D MK III internal meter in 3 different lighting situations, and the Lumu agreed, so I now have a usable incident meter. Good job!

I found out about LUMU on Kickstarter and decided to back them. A few weeks ago my LUMU dome arrived, so I downloaded the app and gave it a try, testing against my hand held light meter.App is extremely simple and intuitive. Better yet, I found it to be quite accurate, within 1/2 to 1/3 stop difference, if there was a difference. I am quite pleased. This will be ideal when I wish to carry as little equipment as possible but still have a hand held light meter for serious photography.

Bought this hoping to use for proper exposure shooting RAW video. However the app only has stills mode

Overall is a good product. Flash metering would be great if it can be implemented.

Terrible. The new app is no longer recognizing the original Lumu. It only want to do photo spot metering when opening it up. Please update immediately for the community.
