Use To Be Better!

This year the LA Marathon app was not useful at all! Use to be able to track runners in live time along the course map. This year they chose text or email updates which I didn’t get most updates until after the race was over. Made it EXTREMELY difficult/impossible to find runners during the race. Please go back to how the app use to be!!!

Don’t know what happened from last year but this year the notifications we’re over a half an hour late and eventually hours late. For example it’s 5:30 PM now and my girlfriend finished six hours ago and the app says she’s at the 30K Mark… Yikes

Tracker does not work. Garbage.

Wish I could give zero or negative stars. App does not track runners. Someone needs to be fired for this. Thousands of people relied on this app to track their friends and loved ones. Last year’s app worked just fine. Last year’s app tracked athletes every mile and you knew exactly where they where without delay. This was useless.

Worst app version ever

My runners finished the LA Marathon at around one pm but I still get notifications that she is crossing the 35 kilometers check point at 640 pm. Sad about this app, thousands of people use this app to track there loved ones to cheer them along the race route. This year you missed your love one because the app sucked.

I got this app to monitor my daughter and the text alerts were so late. In fact, the final alert telling me she competed the race was at 7:01pm which was 7:00 hours after she competed the race. WTH? I would have given this app 0 stars if possible.

Lousy for tracking

Texts runners’ 5k splits, not not till long past those points. For instance, I received my daughter’s 10k split after I saw here at mile post 13((that’s miles). I received here 30k split after she completed the marathon. In addition, in other marathons, I have been able to track her on the course map in near real time, but not here. The map showed where I was, but that was it. In summary, this app is pretty much useless if you want to track a runner.

Text notifications were super delayed (by hours). It didn’t track the runner on the course. Last year’s app was WAY better. Hope whoever developed this app gives money back to whoever paid them cuz it’s crap when it comes to tracking runners.

I’m not sure what LA Marathon did this year to the tracker, but it caused so much chaos for all the spectators trying to track their friends and family. Why you decided to go from real time tracking to text/email updates is beyond me. I didn’t get text responses until hours after my runners had finished. Incredibly disappointing and frustrating considering how much the marathon now charges for registration fees. It’s unacceptable. No need to fix something that wasn’t broken to begin with. Someone on your development team needs to be accountable for this.

Poorly set up. Needs better testing and execution.

The App failed many who depend on it on race day for family and friends tracking their runners. The alerts were way off. Not one alert was timely. The App continued to deliver untimely and unnecessary information well after runners had finished. Worst of all, even after the App was deleted and the number sending alerts was blocked, messaging continued. Hopefully someone does a better job at testing these things. As it is disappointing when on pays incredible sums of money to use these services. It’s 2019, get it together. #youhadonejob Do it right next time.!! Hugs and kisses.
