Complex - poor UX design and tutorials

Novananda

I think they tried to stuff too much into this. Maybe I'll roll back to the simpler version. I have monkeyed around this thing for about 30 minutes and done my share of Web searches for basic things (like, how do you set up a count-in on the metronome so you have time to grab your guitar, etc. - not intuitive). I know the DAW/recordning lingo - I use Ableton, ProTools, NI etc. regularly. My gut tells me there are lots of capabilties in here just some poor UX design (they sacrificed intuitive design for style, I think) and poor training collateral. This is not for someone who just wants to grab an app and get down some scratch tracks.

Other reviewer are right---the user interface is terrible

I bought Loopy HD after disregarding all the negative reviews about the user interface. I shouldn't have; it has a lot of potential, but the user interface is so cryptic that you won't figure it out even after watching instructional videos. The other puzzling thing is that if you rotate the iPad to get your ports to suit your set-up, the interface is also rotated rather than remaining the same. I.e., the UI is sensitive to screen rotation, unlike most other apps. The net result is that that the control bar and buttons on it change position, depending on screen rotation, and this is very confusing. There might be a setting to tweak that I have missed, but it is not for a lack of looking!

Bugs need fixing

I love loopy. But in the past few days for some reason it will not work well with AudioBus. I connect SampleTank to AudioBus and then Output Audio to Loopy HD and I get no sound out of SampleTank when I play the keyboards. However regular Loopy does work, seems to be a problem with Loopy HD. Was working great earlier though. I have the latest IOS updates as of 02-01-17, and an iPhone 7 Plus.

Fun and easy app

Maxpete4s

Just downloaded this and I'm enjoying it. Many of the reviews say that the interface is difficult to understand and although it did take a minute or two to get my head around it's not a reason to pass this by. The minimalist design is great and very intuitive once your familiar with it (as I said about a minute or two of playing around). Fun app!

I just downloaded this app and my husband and I spent the next three hours playing with it. It's relatively intuitive and easy enough to figure out the basics in a night. We recorded three separate songs and were quite pleased. He's an audio engineer and it gets his seal of approval.

If you're want a legit looping app this is not the one for you

A must have for loopers

Straightforward looper, but with all the bells and whistles if you're looking for them. A+

Have used this for years. Better and more flexible than any other looper out there.

This is such an amazing tool. I've been using it for years and it's by far the best and most intuitive looper out there. Tons of options for flexibility and expandability. I feel like anyone having serious issues with the UX or design simply has no patience for learning or just wants instant gratification. Like most great, deep music making tools, it takes time to learn and practice to master. Why would you expect to pick it up and be a master at looping right away? Not even people trying to use a DL4 for looping are any good right out of the gate, even though it's a crazy simple looper pedal. Keep at it.

Beautiful

Love it. Works just as it should.

Best looper on iOS

Very good tool to use as a muscian. I've recorded a lot of songs with this. Tracks over tracks and voila. 5/5 very easy to use.
