So far it’s the best thing I’ve used but not perfect

kylerollins

Glad to have something to block all the tracking. I hope it gets more refined as more use it. I have NOT used the paid VPN yet…

FINALLY! An ad blocker FOR APPS!

mrandisg

I’m being cautiously optimistic here. I’ve been searching thru the App Store all day, trying to find a replacement for Blokada (if you haven’t heard, Blokada’s free service just went kaput and left everyone stranded). Most of them only work on Safari, which I don’t even use—I prefer Chrome. (I only recently switched from Android to iOS.) Others claimed to work on apps as well, but for whatever reason, they didn’t. Oh, and shoutout to all the people who were kind enough to leave honest reviews and warnings about the truly shady ones! My main need for an ad blocker is to allow me to enjoy playing FreeCell and coloring in my coloring book app without ads popping up and either scaring the crap out of me with their sudden loud volume or the banners getting in my way when I’m trying to tap a button. The worst offenders are the ones with fake Xs that won’t let you close the ad and instead take you to the App Store! I’m sure I don’t have to tell you how annoying that is! I sincerely hope I don’t have to come back and update this review. So far, so good. Fingers crossed that these guys earn the 5 stars I’m giving!

Battery killer

Monkey28rb

Kills the battery.

Firewall keeps turning off automatically

jensign2367

When I turn on the firewall it keeps turning off on its own. Please fix this.

You’ll have to remove the app if you get a new device

tinacomo

Otherwise, it will block you from connecting to your own wifi to download your data to your new device. Very upsetting that I spent hours with Apple support trying to “fix” a new device and then everything magically works when I deleted the app.

Data eater

gartksna don

Great app for awhile but this billing cycle it’s used 65gigs of data in the background. I still have two weeks and no high speed left. Why is it eating this much data? I only use it to block ads from iFunny.

So Good! Only one minor issue

overprotective parent's kids

This has worked perfectly for me and even mobile games can’t run ads. As well as no ads to be found in apps like iFunny that are usually a little clogged with them. My only issue so far is that it seems to disable the lyrics segment beneath a song in Spotify. I minor annoyance that is well worth.

Few questions?

Mattstar69

Either your app isn’t fully stopping the requests/attempts apps make to contact/share data or your app is also extremely guilty of what I thought this app intended to prevent. Since update to 15.2 app privacy reports show not only all my apps still linking to other sites or domain sharing my data but it also shows your app doing it a lot. At first I thought maybe it was counting the attempts of other apps as yours since yours blocked them but in fact all my apps are still communicating with the addresses on your block lists. I suppose there’s an explanation & considering your app is free how mad can I get if your app is doing the exact opposite than it says it does. The constant battery drain & now this I don’t see a reason to continue the strain on my phone since my user date and habits are all still being shared and sold by apps. Thanks for showing me the actual amount of times apps actually communicate out side the phone. I just wish yours had been one that didn’t do it too. First I wanna say thank you to the developer of this app for making an app that has shown me just how dishonest some of the developers of apps I have (had) on my phone and thank you for confirming what I suspected about the invasive and intrusive lengths big companies go too to make money off of my life and my habits. This app does what it says it will. It’s showing me all the times apps on my phone attempt to contact companies like Facebook, Google & Amazon. While I have no doubt the number of connections this app has blocked is somewhat larger than prior to the installation of this app since before nothing stopped them from receiving the info they were harvesting where as now thanks to LockDown the apps are continuously attempting to connecting launching connection over connection just to sell what they’ve harvested. What really bothers me is the apps that I payed for doing it. You know the ones that shouldn’t be seeking alternate forms of compensation since they charged me a fee already to use their app. I mean at less than 24hrs Lockdown has blocked over 1,000 connections and that’s with me using all the other privacy protections in place that apple has provided. Guess they’re “rules” where more of a suggestion. Anyway not the point. Thank you creator of Lockdown for opening my eyes and confirming fears. And despite how violated I feel I’m so happy I downloaded this app. Sure only suspecting was more comfortable and being totally unaware made it easier to use some apps but while ignorance may be bliss. I hate ignorance & I prefer knowing even when it’s bad because knowledge is power.

Does not block Facebook or Instagram now

Kings&Queens&Guillotines

I used to like this app. But about a week ago all Facebook owned apps stopped working while I had Lockdown enabled. But they worked when I turned it off. I contacted tech support and their solution was to whitelist all FB owned apps. THIS ABSOLUTELY DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF BUYING THIS APP. What nonsense. Please save your money.

Now it doesn’t block anything

Hueybff

So this app has been running in the background and uploading an exorbitant amount of data (and if you say it’s showing all the data that passes through than it must be tripling it because the amount allocated to the app is 3x larger than the combined amount of all the other apps). On top of that now it’s not even blocking the domains it’s supposed too sooooooo what’s the point.
