Works well, missing a few things

dccoona

Works well for what it is intended to do, but it is clearly meant for photos, not video No shutter speed setting for 1/24, perhaps the most important setting for film light metering Seems like they figured anyone who still used a film camera would be using more advanced light meters.

Not to bad! Found it to over expose by almost 1 f-stop. Wish it would give the exposure times in increments such as 100th, 200th so as to really make my life easier.

Sliders jumpy, can't pick correct settings

Biggest problem is when you try to change a setting you can't select the value you want. Once you think you're there and let go, the number jumps to a nearby value. Some other free light meters use rolling dials for improved accuracy. Only other minor complaint is the use of Tv and Av nomenclature, which is specific to Canon. That's only 1/3 of SLR owners. It's your app, your customers, do what you want. I wouldn't use brand specific terms. Heck most people using a light meter would be using cameras that predate Canon anyways. Like that you can freeze the meter setting and also that it appears to use spot metering (some other meters seem to average outside of the meter area).

Not bad but...

I would recommend a few things. #1 yes it is 1 stop overexposed so adding a + and - to allow for bracketing. #2 allow the settings to be entered manually as well as a larger slider. #3 more numbers to shutter speed possibilities. I am using older cameras that have shutter speeds such as 1/150 etc. thank you and great app!

Works as expected

May be a tad overexposed but that's fine considering Pocket Light Meter (more reviews higher score) is just dead wrong at all times.

App still has ads after paying to lose them.

I paid $.99 to upgrade this app yesterday to an ad free version. "Buy developer a gift and get rid of ads." Given two choices of contribution - click picture of a cookie for 0.99 or click picture a beer for 3.99. I clicked the cookie and the was charged by iTunes. The app still has ads. Just tried deleting and reinstalling it and no luck. Sent a complaint about the charge to iTunes.

Please fix!!!

This app is great to use as a light meter and you can adjust two factors while the computer adjusts the third factor. (ex. you adjust shutter speed and ISO and it sets aperture. or you set aperture and ISO and it sets shutter speed.). but the thing that bothers me about this app is that you can't just set the aperture and shutter speed and have it change the ISO. if you change the aperture or the shutter speed, the ISO doesn't change, and the other one will change. this needs to be fixed!

Must fix paid Version!

I deleted the app then reinstalled and adds reappeared but function returned. There was a quirk but then I gifted the cookie and all is good now. tried this app and preferred to others in it's class. Then made the mistake of buying Beer Mug. Ads gone but App no longer functions. Once opened the exposure never changes. From light to dark. Tapping has no change. Must close App then reopen for new reading. Please fix this bug. Functioning App with Ads is preferred. Upgrade ultimately worked after deleting and reinstalling app.

Better than nothing

The only good thing about this is that's it's free. But it's so inaccurate, compared this with sekonic l-478 and its off by over 3 stop.

Pretty good app.

For the most part this app is great, as all my exposures on film have been just fine until recently when I changed the exposure compensation and forgot to change it back. Because of that I shot a couple rolls of film overexposed by three stops, so if there was a reminder that exposure comp was on, this app would be 4.5 stars (This is because the meter stops at an ev of 4, but this is probably the iPhones fault, not the developers)
