App still has ads after paying to lose them. – Light Meter Free Review

I paid $.99 to upgrade this app yesterday to an ad free version. "Buy developer a gift and get rid of ads." Given two choices of contribution - click picture of a cookie for 0.99 or click picture a beer for 3.99. I clicked the cookie and the was charged by iTunes. The app still has ads. Just tried deleting and reinstalling it and no luck. Sent a complaint about the charge to iTunes.
