I loved the app before the recent update

Moneekie805

The interface is so easy to use and looks great. I was really enjoying the smile grades next to each meal but now that has disappeared?? I’m hoping we can get that back as it was a great motivator to get the greatest score possible on my meals.

Wasted my money on a subscription

I subscribed to a year long plan with the app expecting to get good service. The app makes it very hard to track food. When you search for an item very random foods come up rather than common foods. The only way I can actually track my food is if I scan every barcode which is not practical. I requested a refund but of course they cannot help out.

Inaccurate database

2020 update: Food database is still not accurate. It would be worse if it was way off, but it is off like 3 calories which is more frustrating. I have no idea how this app gets such good reviews when the database is so poor. I really want to like this app. But the food database that they use is not very accurate. Scan 4 things in your home using the barcode and I would be shocked it is was correct more that 50% of the time. And if they can get this correct what other calculations are they doing that are also not accurate?

Amazing app but room for improvement

First, you can’t access all the information if you don’t pay for the service. So the one-star reviews aren’t really justified since this is a subscription. If you want to use a free service, there are basic apps that offer that. I used to use one but was frustrated with the poor design and bug issues and eventually deleted that app. Lifesum’s app is beautifully designed and soooo easy to use. It’s very easy to add meals and they rate your meal based on what your goals are, which is so helpful. They also recommend how many calories you should eat per meal which makes me less anxious about trying to plan it all out myself. At the end of the day they give you a summary of your day and how you did and areas you can improve in. There are plenty of meal plans to choose from and hundreds of recipes you can access. You can filter your recipe search even more to fit your food restrictions or find something different. For example, I’m on the clean eating plan and when I search for recipes, I can filter “dairy-free” or choose “filling” or whatever other option I want. You can track your weight, your measurements, and other nutrient info, and you can see your progress over time which is so nice. I really do love this app! I do have a few suggestions: first, I think the app should give a tutorial upon downloading it to help users navigate it more. The app offers so much and I’d like to know its full potential and how to access certain areas (like overall summaries) rather than just happening across them. Second, somebody mentioned that random options pop up when you search foods and I think that’s true for the most part. For example, I searched “blueberries” and raw blueberries was the 4th or 5th option. The first result listed for literally one blueberry and I found that odd. I think it would be better if the verified results were listed first rather than other users additions. Third, one area I really wanted to track was my vitamin and mineral intake. I was disappointed to see that wasn’t available in this app, but I hope in future versions it will be added. And lastly, I’d like to see more education available in the app. Like, I don’t know what macros are lol and I’d like more tips on food and their nutrients, how to stick to working out/eating well, and so on. I think that would be so helpful!

Best app

The app is easy to use gives you reminders threw out the day which reminds you to put down your meals and you can even snap your meals.

Minor suggestion!

ArsenicInCoffee

I love this app, and I’m using it to get healthier, but since it only listed limited allergies in the test, and you cannot put in things you are allergic to (for example, I’m allergic to strawberries) I get recipes for things I cannot eat.

Lost premium status. Never got a response from their customer service.

Thythyp75

I have decided to purchase premium subscription after reading positive reviews. I linked the account to my facebook account and after half a day, i lost the premium status. I have tried multiple times to log in again using my facebook account and using the apple account that i used to purchase the subscription but still unable to get my premium status back. Contacted the developer at the e-mail provided but never got a response from them. It’s been a week. I’m trying to be patient but there’s no other way to reach them and i’m very frustrated. If you reach out to me and fix the problem, i will edit the review.

What happened to regular food?

This app is beautiful & it functions like a dream but is a total waste of money if you’re looking for quick easy meals to prepare to help you lose weight. The recipes are insane & include things I wouldn’t even think about eating on a normal day. Lots of smoked salmon, fennel, purée and other things that my local grocery store don’t even carry. If that’s your thing go for it but as a single mom of 2 I don’t have time to cook like this & furthermore my kids wouldn’t even touch this mess.
