app has been abandoned

accounts and synchronization no longer work—the entire server-side apparatus has been down for months. the developer hasn’t updated any of his apps since early 2019, has gone silent on social media, and does not respond to github issues making these points. I hope he’s okay. But in the meantime you shouldn’t pay money for this app, since it doesn’t work.

Excellent app for reading

Saibi007

Very good app but lack some features like 1. Insert text anywhere on page 2. Add note anywhere on page 3. Some other features many pdf reader apps have Kindly add them

Works great!

This is a great app. It has all the features that I am for, especially scrolling.

Flawed but better than most others

DEJ-II

After giving up on the always crashing MP3 audiobook player Pro, I tried several other audiobook players, including SmartBook, which wasn’t so smart, and KyBook, which is now on version 3. For the most part, KyBook 3 works, and I recommend it as an audiobook player. The interface is not intuitive, and it’ll take you awhile to figure out where books are when you import them from your drive via the web interface, and as you try to manage books on your iPhone, iPad and Cloud. It works, but it’s awkward. Most annoying, though, are bookmarks. To add comments to a book mark you must edit the bookmark. To do that you must swipe left. Which sometimes, but rarely, works. You might need to tap edit and then Done. That might help, it might not. Perhaps if you change from portrait to landscape mode. Perhaps if you dance in a circle under a full moon. The only thing that’s certain is that if you do...wow!...get the required Edit/Delete mode after swiping left is that a VERY slight extra swipe will delete your bookmark and all comments without any warning or confirmation. F’k’ing annoying!!!!!!!!!!

is the developer alive?

i see reviews on github with people having the same issue i am having with the app, unresolved since september 2019. i cancelled my subscription for 1 year just in time to not be charged the 15 $. i love the way this app is laid out, and i get that this guy has been developing this app for a long time, and code re writes are extremely difficult, but if he has moved onto greener pastures of doing other things, it should be noted in this description or on github so people dont pay for stuff that is broken.

Needs to add sync through iCloud.

DannyGGGT

Honestly this is a pretty good ebook reader, but the developer is argumentative and rude to his users, and refuses to add iCloud syncing only as an excuse to charge a subscription for his syncing service. I am fine with subscriptions for apps when they are worth it, and epub readers are super-worth it to me. I would pay the sub if he would add iCloud syncing. But he doesn’t because he thinks that he needs an excuse to charge for a sub. Just allow iCloud syncing and still ask for a subscription. It would be fine dude. Anyway, this developer is not a nice guy, so if you have another app that you like and you are on the fence, choose not to pay for his. Also, he lifts a lot of the UI from Marvin. It would be nice if he also stole the swipe-to-adjust-brightness feature.

Only PDF eBook reader for me

ahmadster

Was looking to read a PDF ebook without burning my retina, I needed dark mode badly. This is the only PDF eBook reader that did that easily. Native iOS negative mode doesn’t do it. Then I see it had Text-to-Speech, using the excellent native iOS voices, awesome. Then I see reflow, and that’s it, found my perfect reader. The app is built with native iOS UX quality and sensibility. I love it.
