I hate how every time I click on a story an obnoxious ad pops up with really high volume that startles whoever is nearby. It’s a waste of time having to wade through ads with every story. I find myself hesitating to forward good stories to friends knowing they too will be jolted by a commercial when they open my text. I realize you need sponsors to pay for the app, but there must be a better way.
KCRA 3 used to be great, but they’ve moved so far left it’s frustrating to read the stories. I’ve watched this channel since I was a kid but I’m looking for news elsewhere most days. Update: I finally gave up. Switching to Fox 40.
I use the app because it shows relevant news to my location, but I’m stuck playing it on my iPhone/iPad and Airplaying it to my TV which more often than not ends up being extremely glitchy. It would be nice if there was an actual Apple TV app to use instead of this faulty workaround.
The weather part of this app is outstanding and I use it frequently. The rest of the app needs work. Often times an announcement will be made during the television news broadcast directing the audience use the app for more information and I’ve been unable to locate anything regarding the announcement. I’m often surprised by the grammar errors and misspelling in articles. Does anyone proof read the articles before posting them? I’ve stopped using the news part of the app because of the advertisements must watch before getting to the story. The weather part of the app is great. The news part of the app is not so good. I’ll end this by saying the on air broadcast is my preference for news source.
I keep this app so that I can follow local Sacramento area news, but it sure doesn’t make it easy. Local news is mixed with national news, human “interest” stories, and ads, all jumbled together. Some “stories” are not “news” and stay on the pages for weeks or months. It's difficult to scroll and navigate around all the junk. How hard would it be to organize the news into sections?
Articles often cut off before the end. Seems from older reviews that this is a longstanding issue. Too bad. KCRA is the only local news I like.
Great weather info options. Especially the radar. Now for news- KCRA leaves a great deal of info out of its articles and is reliable to be opinion based and biased in all its reporting.
