Inconsistent reporting and inaccurate

mitrerancour

1) After a week of use I have figured out that when an email is sent to a Gmail address, this app reports the email as “read” when it arrives at Gmail and is present, but unopened, in the receiver’s Inbox list. Then when a person views the email in Gmail, the app reports it as “read” again. So first report is arrived at Gmail. Second report is opened in Gmail. Also, country and OS reporting is accurate when sending-receiving from Apple Mail desktop or iPhone (you can know the location of the receiving iPhone) but the information about Gmail seems to be reporting the location of the Gmail server and has no relationship to the location of the recipient. When the recipient composes a reply in Gmail, this app goes berserk sending multiple reports. I got up to 11 reports when testing replying from Gmail. (It’s kind of an unintentional alert, though, because if you suddenly get a lot of sequential reports, it it means the recipient is writing a reply.) 2) When a video is inserted in an email the video does not keep its name. This app changes the name to “Video.mov” (or whatever extension it is.) 3) Now there is a red “4” badge on my app icon. I have cleared the reports list but the 4 does not go away. I cannot make that 4 disappear.

The first time I used it, it worked. Simple to use. It's really great!

Not working showing a read receipt

?qqqq

Was working but now it shows the tracking image Saying this email is tracked by I track mail server saying this email is tracked by I track mail server recipient can see it so it defeats the purpose

?stopped working!

Update: Stopped working completely! Not tracking at all. Also inserts “This email sent by itrackmail” in every email even though I have purchased the upgrade. Found a better app. Update: The notifications are working again! Maybe it was an Apple issue? Original review: This app used to notify you each time an email was opened. Now you must open the app to see if the email has been read. I liked the old way better. Maybe they could make the notification optional? If it gave a notification when opened, it would be 5 stars!

Seriously ?

Momma Desirena

It comes with NO instructions on how to add emails and I’m not paying extra for the pro.....

Horrible had to give it one star because it will not let you post

NO STAR 74

This is the worse . It says the email has been read and it was never read. It’s as if someone else is reading the emails even says read twice and never was opened. Done !!!!

Junk and waste of money

junk and waste of money

Got this to use to track, including ip-address for business ... it only shows California. No other info. Garbage!!!!! Wasted money. I can’t believe people can sell app’s that are Scams like this one! I will definitely be disputing this with my bank as you all should. It’s suggested that it provides the IP address, location, state and city, everything I’ve never tried to track shows unknown, Or California. I have no idea who is opening my emails I’ve been sending but this is ridiculous. Do not waste your money at all. The only thing it tracks is when you open an email that you’ve already sent to someone else.

A dummy’s guide to email tracking

This app works great, even the free version. It shows more details then similar products, such as full user agent (iPad version only) or geographic description of the source IP (and yes, it shows the IP address too). That last bit saves you a manual Whois lookup of the source IP just to figure out where in the world the user is. Why does it show California when you know the user is in another state? Because the user that “opened” your email is using Gmail or similar webmail or custom mail client/app, and those mail servers (in California) process the embedded images then serve them to the user. It’s why some people don’t like Gmail and other web-based email since it is difficult to turn off web beacons, canaries, web bugs, whatever you want to call marketing tracking techniques. Fun fact: Gmail triggers embedded trackers when you load your inbox, even before you open the specific message. So marketing (and spammers) know the recipient email is legit. If the recipient opens the email in the iOS native mail client and they allow loading of embedded images (off by default on my iPhone...maybe that was a custom setting I chose) then it will trigger the web beacon placed by iTrackMail, and you will see the person’s actual IP address (i.e. their ISP router eternal interface).

Doesn’t work

MDun13129

As soon as I hit the link to set the email title it says no email is linked in the free version. It does not work and I’m setting it doesn’t allow you to add an email. Waste of time and isn’t user friendly ( no websites or instructions on how to link it to your gmail).

Excellent app!
