non-intuitive, difficult interface

Hi Everybody!!

This is a big problem with mindmapping on the iPhone and no one's solved it yet. This is a good app, one of the best at this task, but still needs improvements before I can use it beneficially.

They gave us real notes and speed, but now it's a little twitchy.

I'm just replying here, because it seems that a few people think that all we got was a carriage return. When in a bubble, if you hit the edit button, you are able to write a real note for your branch point. This is also where you can change the color. Although, this update has increased the responsiveness dramatically ( which is great ), I feel things have gotten a little too twitchy. I'm sure this will be fixed in further updates. In any case, I'm glad this program is evolving. The iphone is not an easy platform for mind maps, but this software does a pretty good job and it's extremely useful. Subway rides have never been this productive.

Basic, Flawed, & Questionable Reviews

Midfield Thoughts

Simple to use, too simple. Glowing reviews are suspicious. Limited capabilities that do not include "undo", near impossible to realign bubbles, no basic template(s), instructions are a joke and in the form of a map - not explanation, just a ^#* map. One star for the multiple export formats and being stable and usable for only the most simple mapping (why even use this for that purpose) - zero stars for it's functionality. When trying to lay out thoughts quickly and logically you should never have to worry about deleting a root that deletes tons of work - nor should you need to change screens constantly to edit colors, text, etc. Adding injury to insult is the price. Check out competition before making decision.

Simplicity is an Artform

What makes this app better than the rest of the mindmapping apps out there is its simple interface. When I use a mindmap, i don't want to fool around with changing colors and icons for everything I input. I want to lay it out as fast as possible so I can focus on what is important - the ideas! So to the developers of this app - updates are always welcome, but keep this product simple! It is what makes it so great!

So Simple, No So Complete

I have used this app for a year, loved it and had to change to one that has kept up. Does the iPad bring in a new era of those apps we once loved and now are left behind? Guys, go to camera three....upgrade and we all will be glad to pay for a newer version that works on the iPad!

Needs iPad support

This app is great. Very easy to use, flexible and worth every penny. But it needs an update badly to support the iPad. I'll rate 5 stars when the iPad is supported. Password protection for files would be a great feature too.

Great Productivity App

seriously lacking for a $10 app, very easy to use because it does so litle! No search, no templets, no styles, no.............

sheer frustration

I suspect there is a cogent reason why this app has not been rewritten or upgraded to run on an iPad. if there is, it eludes me. I am disgusted at having purchased a fairly good app for my iPhone, only to find that on moving to an iPad I needed to purchase a competing product -- iThoughts -- in order to perform mind-mapping work in HD resolution. herein lies the road to failure, folks. if I were reviewing the app itself in a vacuum, I would rate it at 4 stars. in terms of meeting my needs for a multi-platform, it's an abject failure. wake up. smell the coffee. see if you can do better than Novamind's abysmal failure at moving their purportedly compatible v5 release to Mac. such ineptitude gives mind mappers a bad name.

See "Midfield Thoughts" excellent review

Elegant simplicity is one thing; however, the app doesn't incorporate basic mind mapping techniques in its functionality and has little capacity for allowing the user to make even the simplest changes. There are cheaper mind-mapping apps that are way more useful. Go find them.
