Excellent cookbook desperately in need of a technical update

This app has been updated with 64 bit support but doesn't run at the newer screen sizes. On my iPhone 6S it is a scaled up app. I'm glad the app will work with iOS 11 but the developers should really bring it fully up to date. Old, old review (two versions ago, from 2015 IIRC): This app has fantastic recipes. But it was never updated for post the post-iOS 7 user interface style not adjusted for the iPhone 6 screen size. I realize this app is one done by a company that licensed the book's content, but this is disappointing. Again, fantastic recipes—I'm reviewing the presentation layer here.

Great!

Nice App!??

It's about time!

Finally an update for the future iOS 11. One of my favorite apps and I was getting tired of the update notifications. Yea, I have the hardbound books also.

Nice and simple

Glad this app got an update. It was much needed. And, for someone that doesn't cook very often this is a life saver!

Great one of the best

Updated and it feels so good

Thanks for updating the cookbook so I can continue using! Best place to start cooking right here.

A wonderful, classic app that has now been updated...

What a pleasure to return to a (nearly) fully functioning version of this wonderful app. It's been updated and works beautifully with iOS 10 versions. I had missed that one must select to have it "always on" by pressing a little gear icon in the lower right corner of the screen. I am having trouble with one feature, however. When I choose to add a recipe to "favorites," it doesn't actually appear there--there's nothing in the list of favorites. It does keep track of recently viewed recipes, which helps, but it would be nice to again be able to mark favorites. [Old review: I've long enjoyed using the hardcover version of the book as my principal cookbook, supplemented with videos made for the NY Times, but the app for iPad is even better, if that's possible. Others have commented on its great features, including the timers (with nice alarms that have a bell reminder sound, but aren't insistent), the ability to keep the screen turned on, and the special tab to make notes about the recipe, all of which work beautifully. Among the other nice features is that I can listen to NPR stations (and change them) while using the Bittman app (although when the app's alarm sounds, it stops the "radio" program...can this be fixed?) Better than the book is having frequent updates and handy instructions right on the recipe, a shopping cart for buying ingredients, and ways to send the recipe to others (I haven't tried that yet). One of the nice features of the book is the assortment of variations suggested, and the app does a great job with that. The kale and tahini I fixed tonight was delicious, but Bittman has other fine suggestions that look tempting (and quick). This is quickly becoming a favorite app well worth the price.]

Excellent app
