Fix the glitches!!!

Spyglass0525

You will find that all of the app issues pointed out in earlier reviews continue. Constant crashes, screen freezing, small fonts that won’t size up, etc. I wonder if the developer cares- as there are no postings letting us what’s happening to them improve things.

Selection

Heaethfeltmama

We’ve tried a few popular titles and can’t get them. Diary of a fly Trolls soundtrack I also wanted bagpipes but don’t know which artist so I found a Scottish cd that had a few songs I was hoping for.

Great App

Really easy to work with.

Great resource for audio and e-books

Hoopla vastly enhanced the already great value of my library card. Through audiobooks, I'm reading more than ever. Appreciate being able to download content to reduce data use when Wi-Fi is not available.

He idea is fabulous but,

Twistedhippie

The fact the only 5 audio books can be borrowed in a month doesn't make any sense. They aren't physical books that are absent from a library, so why only five? I suffer from cataracts, and audio books are a god send, purchasing them is extremely pricey, and unfortunately out of my budget. I will happily rate this app five stars for more books per month.

Very good, would be great with a tweak

Don'tWannaBuy

I’m enjoying Hoopla very much. I signed up through my local library. There’s a great selection. I’ve mostly listed to audio books. Please add the ability to hear a sample before we borrow. I used one of my five per month slots to check out a certain audio book, but the narrator’s voice just grates on me. If I had been able to hear a sample of this narrator, I would have chosen another book.

Dark theme page turn animation

RadManB

The app is great, however, the page turn animation in the dark theme is not good for nighttime reading. There is a bright flash of white over the screen with every page. Is there a way to disable it?

Currently has issues keeps my my place and switching between Bluetooth sources.

I’ve only used the audiobook feature. Have had it through the past two updates. After the first update, the app does not remember the last time stamp I listened to, and plays from the beginning of the audiobook each time I open the app. I’ve started taking screen-shots when I end a listening session to help me get back to my place in the next session. This is tedious. Since the latest update, the app really struggles to switch from my Bluetooth headphones to my car Bluetooth player when I get in my car. This is also incredibly tedious, and I have had to pull over, restart the app, restart my car, and fiddle with things before it will start playing. This doesn’t happen with other audio apps, only Hoopla. Please fix these “bugs” soon!

The Update I wish I’d never allowed, March 18 2018

April 7 & 11th Reply to developers: I’ve emailed that very support email several times. I’ve emailed since the 7th. ***Please read this.*** I’ve emailed the very email you list!*** I’ve been told you are aware of the issues and a fix is on the way. Hasn’t been fixed, the app is unusable for reading. I would suggest putting the old version back until the issues are fixed. I have to say this seems a long time to not fix the type size, at least, not to mention landscape mode. This is my review until the two issues are fixed. I’ll up it some if you fix the type. I’ll up it more once landscape mode is fixed. I’ve been assured. All assuming it is usable again. The app no longer works in landscape mode, but *much* worse is the very limited font size. The largest typeface is *tiny* on my iPad Pro 10.5. This was a useful resource in addition to my library, now it is virtually unusable. Only 1 star. Update: new version put out, the fonts still are only one size.

Unreliable

Loriaaa

Audio books stop playing for no reason, get error messages when it is working. I have re-installed the app numerous times, on advice from their help desk. Never helps. Good thing my library offers a different app that works fine ( Overdrive).
