Not at all like Netflix

So this is not at all like Netflix because you pay a monthly fee with Netflix and then you get to watch unlimited shows and movies that are currently on the platform as part of your monthly fee, you charge a monthly fee and then on top of that we have to buy the books we want to listen too. That’s freaking crazy and you have the books on there that you can listen to for free as your unlimited listening books. This is a scam!!!!! Not even remotely happy at all about this app!!

I used this app later 2018 and loved it. The monthly subscription was awful and totally worth it, considering I could listen to roughly 3 books a week depending on length and how much I listened. I had to cancel my account for financial reasons. Decided to download again since I’m able to enjoy the subscription again. $39.99 for a year isn’t bad. That, I didn’t mind. What I did mind was having to pay the yearly subscription then buy coins in order to listen to the books I wanted. 100,000+ books available for coin purchase and only 5,000 for unlimited listening? Granted 5,000 is a lot but how many would I really be interested in listening too. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t want to pay a subscription THEN have to pay for the books I wanna hear. I enjoyed the old format WAY more.

I like the app, it works perfectly for me. However, I only use it for self-help books. I like to listen to them in the gym, in the car, on my bike. They really put the content in my mind. I used Hibooks to listen to it during my commute. Like that I could read the book when I'm at home and listen to it in the car / walking. Took me about a week (9 days) to finish 1200 pages like that. The choice of books is enormous, varied and mostly well read by household names. They have been my companions while waiting for delayed planes. When running I increase the speed of the reading, whilst driving I slow it back to normal speed. I've used the sleep timer on it too, it's handy more for ensuring you stop at end of chapters as I wouldn't want to fall asleep and miss part of the book! The price is next. It's amazingly cheap, end of story... No really, the pricing is so low, that I don't even know how they make money. I’ve got young kids who absolutely love audio books and Hibooks has a truly incredible collection as well as an amazing range for adults. There’s always a good offer or discounts so you can easily grow your library without spending much extra beyond your yearly sub rate. Hibooks has changed my listening life as you can listen to a book when doing 101 things! So well done, and keep the books coming!

I purchased this app after having listened to just about everything I am interested in through my library. Well, unfortunately with this app they are all older books that I have already heard and I have to pay more to listen to more current books. I am going to cancel now.

The books are amazing, like Netflix for books, but the problem is that some of the books are mislabeled the details about it are not true, like for example, “orbiting Jupiter”. When you pay for the membership you still have to pay for coins to read some of the books. But other than that, it is awesome.

After paying yearly subscription you find out you still have to make additional purchases on many of the titles and authors. Do not purchase or be deceived. Piss poor. Go to audible no hidden tricks. Hibooks is the “Spirit Airlines” of audiobook subscriptions with hidden fees and addition charges on top of your subscription.

I checked it out including reviews and it sounds like there is a lot of free books. But then as soon as you download app and create an account they want $39.99.

I had no idea that you would automatically draft money from our account without first sending notice. Then after you take the $39 I still don’t have enough “coins” to even buy one book !!! What a rip off and obvious fraudulent practice!! Seems like Public opinion is in my favor. Is there a class action against you that I can join?
