Barely ever works

At first this app was great! I was so excited to have something to track my son’s bus, especially in the winter. But over the past few months, the app isn’t tracking the bus anymore. When I go on the app, it shows a message saying that our transportation department turned off the bus’ location after pick up. The arrow/tracker doesn't show the bus’ location but shows the red stop sign only. This app is seriously frustrating. I’ve submitted an inquiry to help via the app and never heard back. I’ve also contacted the transportation department and they said to contact HCTB. Bummer.

Map not showing up

Whenever I use the map none of the symbols show up, and is only the map and the gray circle which is the notification radius. I tried changing the time frame of the routes but nothing happens. I also called support and they told me to just delete and reinstall the app, which obviously didn’t work. If there’s something I can do please tell me

This school year this app is AWFUL

I have been using this app since 2019-20 school year when my little started school. The previous two years were great and I knew exactly where the bus was, within one minute of where it actually was. 2021-22 school year is awful. It stops working as soon as it leaves the school and therefore I have no idea where the bus is. It has arrived as early as 15 minutes before scheduled time and as late as 20 minutes after the scheduled time. I truly hope the school districts are not paying to use this app, it’s not accurate. I would say it no longer works! Yesterday my little was home an 2 hours and I got an alert that the bus entered our radius. Whaaaaaat? Ridiculous!!!! Please fix this!


Great app, terrible functionality, worse support

After their latest update, running the latest iOS on an iPhone 12 Pro, the top icons now mush with my phone’s clock, battery icon, wifi icon, and cell signal icon. They are legit overlapping. The kid switcher (I have two kids enrolled) is nearly unusable because it mushes into the notch. I wrote in to support about the icons mushing and they wrote back to tell me how to customize my notifications. WTH? I didn’t ask them about notifications or even mention them. Oh, but also, the push notifications have completely broken for me and the email notifications were never super reliable. And yes I’ve tried turning it off and on again in every way possible. The app barely functions well enough to give it credit for functioning and for that I am grateful. It’s extremely handy to see the bus GPS for a mom of teenagers who seem to barely make it out the door on time.

We routinely get notifications after the bus has come and gone. Not by a few moments - but by hours. For example- the bus arrives at 8:xx on time and at noon we will get a notice that it’s entering our area. Yes, I rebooted my phone, checked my settings, checked my spam filters… I reached out to the company on their customer service link. It’s been weeks. I know - you get what you pay for. Point is - the school system is paying for it.


Wrong Stop, Wrong School, Wrong Bus

Customer support is nonexistent. I’ve submitted a ticket twice and each submission says I’ll hear from someone within 24 hours. I’ve received no contact. The city and zip in my student’s record was corrected, by the school, over a week ago. I’m still receiving notifications for the wrong school, stops, and bus.


Great idea but poor execution & awful customer service

App is not reliable. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Since returning from Winter Break it does not work at all. Zero function at all. When I emailed customer service, I received a brief unhelpful reply that did not even answer my original question: “Thank you for contacting Here Comes the Bus. Please contact your student's Transportation Department for the bus and stop information. They will be able to help you.” Huh?! Not only was that NOT my question (I never said I needed that info, I said the app stopped working), the agent’s email reply actually displayed the metadata that contained all of that exact bus & stop information. SMH. Awful customer service for a non-functioning app.
