Why are these games getting shorter and shorter?

gatexox

I’ve noticed games are getting much shorter. Trials are extremely short. Previous games were at least 8 chapters, even 9 or 10 sometimes. So.....I am giving only 2 or 3 stars, and moving on to other publishers.

No issues

Despite all the negative reviews, I happened to enjoy this game. I personally, did not experience any of the problems that other reviewers mentioned. The graphics were good, enjoyed the different tasks and the voiceovers. The hidden object scenes were different in variety (some being very simplistic, and others interactive. I have no regret purchasing this game and think it is definitely worth playing - especially at the sale price! Different strokes for different folks as the old saying goes. ? Happy Gaming Everyone and hope some fellow gamers have a positive experience as well. KdBoots ?

NOTE TO CATALINA: Hello, my friend. Today I received a newsletter from Five BN Uk, and supposedly there was a new release from them that we could play using iOS and it could be found on the BigFish game finder app or in the App Store. I couldn’t find it anywhere. It’s supposed to be a new installment in the Lost Lands series. I know you have corresponded with this developer and I was wondering if you know what’s happening here. It was frustrating not to be able to find this game. I am sure many gamers would appreciate the information. Thank you so much! Note to Dracyy, Drosietwo and Corntiques: all of you were correct and spot on in your reviews. It’s nice to know there are other gamers who find rats revolting! Thanks for the heads-up. My question to all of you then becomes: will this developer ever make the improvements to the interface as well as address all of the glitches? I would bet not, but the worst part is that BigFish keeps bringing us games from them. Two were inflicted upon us in the course of a week! Although this game was a slight improvement over the last disaster developed by AMAX Interactive, it was at best an average game. The developer did not give us enough bells and whistles (instantaneous transport, unusual HO scenes and puzzles, a great gameplay interface) and this game seemed extremely dated. The storyline was identical to all others in this series: defeat the nasty dwarf Saint-Germain, who is stealing souls in his relentless quest for immortality. The graphics were terrific. You could customize settings. The teleport map provided slightly delayed transportation between locations. It also had objectives marked, rather than tasks, which I detest, because I want to teleport to a location with something to accomplish. You could collect coins at each location to decorate a haunted house; however I gave up on that because I was not finding coins of different denominations. Inventory was labeled and interactive and there were complex items to assemble. The gimmick was a box for which you must acquire 12 seals; this was necessary to do in order to progress through this game. The gameplay interface was not as tight as in PuppetShow, and I wasn’t constantly back tapping to other locations. AMAX could have lowered it another inch, right above the inventory bar and it would have been preferable. Still, there were touch screen sensitivity issues at play. I had to tap extremely hard to acquire inventory tools and also during the HO scenes. The HO scenes were revisited but at least there was variation. Inventory usage was difficult at times because objects were so tiny. The puzzles and games were mostly simplistic and unoriginal; a few were thought provoking. The puzzles included mostly rotational types, some of skill and dexterity, some codes. The game was an average length inclusive of the bonus adventure. I would like this developer to start reading our reviews and making the necessary changes so that we might rate their games higher than one or two stars. I rounded down my original review because the game was very glitchy! UPDATE: There is a new game due out in two weeks from Artifex Mundi. It is available for pre-order on the App Store. I do not suggest you pre-order because the finished product might differ from the description given by the developer. Wait until it’s released. It’s not like there are limited quantities, lol! At least the genre will be crime, which will be a welcome respite from the usual themes of horror, fantasy and even mythology. Happy gaming everyone!

Problems with the bonus game

kristyprc

So, I was enjoying the game, by the time I got to the bonus game I had troubles with the safe & the last objective, finding the shapes to complete the picture in the center. Safe-the dial is too small to operate the mini game properly. It also may be a tad too touchy, but I can’t tell due to issue #1. Object-the object used to find the shapes at the very end of the game is way too small to be able to see any of the shapes that I’m looking for. I had to skip both. In case you want to know what I’m using to play, I’m on an iPad. I believe it’s the most recent one available. My software is up to date. Most everything else was great.

I like the game but items are extremely hard to pick up to use in the game.

I’m playing on my iPad & there is a lot of wasted space with the red area at bottom. Would be better without that.

Problems with church and dwarf

Austin1922

I had problems with putting the moon together in the hop. Then it finally left me finish, then I got to the church and can’t get passed the dwarf. It’s frozen. I was enjoying the game. Easy and fun. I don’t want to reinstall and start over, afraid it will do the same thing. Would have give more stars if I could have finished the game.

Good game but not so good bonus game

musicGrrl

I really liked this game - cool story plot (though that evil dwarf character is so annoying and not scary). Everything worked well until he bonus game. Dragging the right items in the HOs failed (frustrating) but I just gave up and deleted it when there was no puzzle skip on a puzzle I didn't feel like doing.
