I just hit level 100 in Hades’ Star, so I thought this was an appropriate time to finally write a review for this game. I don’t say this lightly - but this is the best mobile game I’ve ever played. I’ve been playing for close to 6 months now, and I still feel engaged in building up my star system day in and day out. For anyone reading this that is unfamiliar with the game - it’s a fairly simple premise: it’s a space themed MMORTS that revolves around growing your personal star system by making shipments between your various planets. There are two multiplayer modes. The first that are accessible from Day 1 are the Red Star Missions (PVE). The second are the White Star Missions (PVP). It took about 3 months for me to get to a point where I felt confident enough to join a White Star Mission with my corporation, but you could probably start doing these sooner depending on your frequency of play. The best way I can describe WS Missions is they’re like an extended space chess match between two teams. What makes Hades’ Star really stand out in such a crowded genre is the amazing community, that it’s truly a free to play game, and that you can play it on your own time. RS/WS Missions rely heavily on cooperation with your corpmates, but even the community that you talk to in ‘Galaxy Chat’ is friendly and helpful if you have a question and need some general assistance. You can buy ‘Crystals’ (speed-ups), but you don’t necessarily need to. You can collect them for free through occasional drops from your planets, or through WS Missions. They’re helpful for when you’re in a bind and run out of hydrogen, or need to quickly heal a battleship, but I can count on one hand how many times I’ve had to use them. A big selling point is that this game is designed for people that enjoy the social and competitive aspects of MMO games, but don’t have hours on end to binge play. You can go days, weeks, even months without playing, and unless you’re in a corporation that expects players to be regularly active, there are no negative consequences. You can play however much you want to, and on your own time. The game does offer a limited one time starter pack purchase of $4.99, which gives a permanent discount for building ships. After I post this review I’m going to go buy it, not because I need to, but because I feel like this game genuinely deserves it. In a market that’s saturated with games that try to cram micro transactions down your throat constantly, that’s a pretty important distinction. Anyway, that’s my review. Great job Parallel Space Inc., you guys made something really great!

Like the game, wish it still worked

I have a iPhone8, an update or two back the game stopped working. It cannot establish connection and cannot link to my account. I have uninstalled three times , did a hard shutdown between installs, did a restart once and reverted to default settings. I am out of ideas. I contacted the devs, they say my account looks fine. It’s been three weeks now, I spent cold hard cash on the games owning phase. Frankly waisted too much once I got a grasp on the game all I still got was the weekly crystal deal. If anyone else is having the same issue or has a solution drop me a line. I’ve run out of ideas myself, I know there are people who know more than I do about these sort of things. Update: Still will not connect to my account, locks up on launch with that message. I had hoped the game update would in some fashion fix my issue.

Great game

Solid game play interesting story line but I wish gold was easier to get because that would speed things up or how about an auto gold transport so you can have it get resources when your offline so you get in and your like SWEET lots of gold!!!

Amazing pacing with rewarding milestones

It takes a long time to get to some of the key features of the game. Get into a good Corp and take on White Stars. This is easily the most strategic part of Hades Star. New update rolling out in May/June 2018. Best time to get in is now!

Fun, but often tedious, game

Punter16

This game is good, with the potential to be great. However, the tediousness of routing your transport ships from planet to planet to planet will start to wear on you once your star system becomes big enough that it requires scrolling around the screen.

Perfect

Space strategy which is not p2w. Am I dreaming?
