Guitar Pro is paid iOS app published by Arobas Music

Great app that lets you playback Guitarpro tab files. There are thousands of them on the internet or you can buy them from Arobas, the makers of GuitarPro. This app is not a substitute for the full PC/MAC version which allows editing of files and more realistic sound. However, as a portable practice app, it is perfect. Has slow-down and loop features, guitar tab, standard note display and multiple tracks that can be muted or solo'd individually. Extremely stable. I practice my guitar with it using an Ipad/Amplitube/Irig setup. Has a virtual guitar fretboard/keyboard which will display the notes as it's playing. A must have.

Great app....until... I can create tablature and then can't print it out?? Are you kidding? Ever tried to play guitar and have to scroll up every few seconds with one hand while playing? Very disappointed!

Been a user for years. While not perfect, its good points far outnumber its drawbacks. I wish the editor was a little more robust. I wish I could override the fixed bar length to condense for tab into the screen. But I expect they'll continue to improve the app as time goes by. My biggest complaint is that there's no master volume for the tracks (one that doesn't adjust the master volume of the iPad) so I can play along without losing my eardrums. I know I've only listed the negatives, but this is for the developers to see. The positives are many. Re the reviewer above who complained about the inability to print, a workaround is that you can export your tab to email, then import the tab into Guitar Pro desktop where you can print them out. I'm a User of MySongBook, Arobas's excellent tab library. Highly recommended and priced well (during the sales) I would like to be able to cache my purchases because my iPad doesn't have a data connection, and I need wifi to see the MySongBook scores. That's a big drawback that needs to be fixed in an update. Perhaps part of their licensing agreement is that the tab must be retrieved only via the Internet so to be stored solely on Arobas servers.

You cant practice the songs you write because it doesn't give you the option to adjust the tempo

This is a great app companion for your guitar. Adjust tempo, set loops, select individual tracks, etc. I think it's awesome, and is my go-to app over Guitar Tabs, Guitar Tab Pro. And it works with FRETLIGHT GUITARS!

This is not as good as guitar pro for the computer. I was not able to get tabs from ultimate guitar loaded on this app. I play a lot of metal and I don't always play popular songs so I am upset that I paid for an app that only allows me access to songs I don't want to play.

I had to update my review. This WAS a great app for guitar students, and guitar teachers alike, but it doesn't recognize gp 7 files. I used to be able to email and receive gp files to students so we could open them on our mobile devices. However, when I updated to Guitar Pro 7, I was no longer able to do that. Hopefully, they will update the app.
