Cube is good, app is disappointing

cozmic72

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and design of the cube, and found that I can do solves almost as fast as I can on my GAN air SM. I was thrilled to see the detail and accuracy of the statistics after my first solve (I bought the Edge model, so timing is accurate to 1ms). What I find incredibly disappointing, is the very limited statistics available in the app for previous on- and off-line solves. I can only find my best time, average number of turns, and average number of turns per solve. That’s it! I had expected that the app would keep track of my entire history of solves - including turn-by-turn timing; at the very least, I would expect to find AO5, AO12, AO100 timings and charts, but no such luck. (I’m surprised that there is not even replay functionality for the most recent solve. Beginners and advanced cubers alike would appreciate it!) The main reason I backed the project, was that I was excited about the ability to analyze my solves, and track progress and statistics around splits. Here’s hoping that these features get added to the app in the near future! (It was really wishful thinking to expect the app to include algorithms and features like OLL/PLL training; I do hope that they will be added at some point too...)

Wow

I love the app overall, the need to sync what face is up is a little annoying but otherwise fun!

Delighted

I am an absolute beginner when it comes to Rubix cubes! This app was able to teach me how to solve a cube step by step. I am so glad that this was able to guide me by teaching me the algorithms needed to solve it step by step in a simple manner

Game changer!!!

EkTerraNova

This cube feels great, the app is very responsive. I will say since it’s still in Beta the response time is a tiny bit off, but only in orientation - meaning if I spun the cube really fast, the orientation displayed on the screen isn’t spot on - which is to be expected so no missing stars for that, just an observation. Other than that I can’t wait for all the new features to come out and hopefully you guys sharpen up the icons and make everything able to rotate eventually. That would make this 100% perfect for me honestly. Amazing job and well done to the GoVibe team!

In love! ?

I received my pre-ordered GoCube yesterday and am IN LOVE. I had been close to solving a cube before, but had never completed one. After just a couple hours with the tutorial, I’m now able to complete a mixed cube in under 3 minutes (without referencing the algorithms). Amazing!

Great cube with a bonus of this app

In my opinion this app didn’t have to be this great, because the Go Cube itself is amazing. The cube feels and moves perfectly. With this app it gains so many features. I personally love the solo mode and can’t wait for the other mini games and features.

Friggin WOW!!

Wow!!! I solved the cube!!!!! This is awesome!!!!! So glad I jumped on board with this Kickstarter. So awesome to watch this product go from a dream to a reality! Kudos to the founders!!

No iPhone X support..

I love the cube. And I love the app. They both work together great. The cube turns very nice and is a good transition from other speed cubes. One suggestion, remember the cube you played with last instead of pairing with it each time. But come on, no iPhone X support on the app? Even though the website shows the app full screen on the iPhone X. The iPhone X has been out for almost 2 years now. All apps should be able to handle the screen size.

Amazing!

Datsun510!

The cube and app work really well. I like that at any time you can reorient everything. I would say it would be nice to watch the video tutorial without having to have the cube around to access the app features. Also might be nice to rename my cube.

Small additions will make this 5 stars

I like the app, and I like the academy format, but it only teaches one of the basic solve methods. I already know how to solve the cube and was really hoping for stuff to take me to the next level of solving. Specifically I think this needs a mid and high level in the academy, as well as better stats and tracking of how long and how many moves it takes you to get to certain milestones of solving the cube. For example, let’s say my PLL and OLL(permutate and orient last layer stages) are my sticking point. Stats that could tell me that, on average, those are my slowest area would be awesome. I would love to see drills to work on those as well as new algorithms to learn to accomplish them faster. I’m sure the games and stuff are fine, but learning faster and better algorithms helps you break through the ceiling of only knowing the basic solve, and that is where this app could really shine!
