New version shows way more ads, more annoying to use

FLbible

There’s no doubt that Ghostery wanted to be more ad-friendly so it could make a buck from advertisers, even it meant sticking it to people who use Ghostery for more privacy and less ads. Strange navigation to favorites and deleting private data. Stupid changes = two stars.

Favorite feature gone

Cassie L. B.

Other than the ad blocking and all that, I loved that you could add folders to your saved bookmarks. I’m very organized and so I LOVE this. But the update took that away and I almost don’t want to use it now. I hope it comes back. I know it’s small but it’s a key feature to me.

Like the app, the update still needs a bit more polish

I haven’t had many problems using the app so far, but there’s some stuff that I’d still like to see that was present before the update. 1) make it easier to access bookmarks / favorites, put a button to look through them on the main toolbar or something. If these links are favorites, people would want to be able to access them immediately and with only one click needed to be able to open them 2) the organization of the tabs feels cluttered, for both going through the private and regular tabs. I liked the pre-update tab setup of being able to see all the tabs at once, which made it much easier to visualize and to toggle through them, I’d like to see that brought back. Maybe being able to see all regular tabs at once, with a different window for all the private tabs as well 3) have the option to remove the “offers” section. I think a lot of people don’t want to see this, and it’s annoying having this more present than the bookmarks / favorites

Loving the update

Lesya from Seattle

The app was a great concept before but was glitchy. Downloaded the update and it’s amazing! Thank you! Thank you!

They’ve massively cluttered it up

“nonickname"

Ghostery was presumably created for one purpose: to limit the ability of trackers to track our web use. With the latest update a couple of days ago, it is SO cluttered — they now want to be all things to all people, I guess — that it’s nigh unusable. Until then it was my primary way to access the web in the phone. Now that it’s a mess, I’ve deleted it.

FINALLY A GOOD BROWSER

AyyeeKav

No exaggeration, this is the best browser in the app store yet. I can finally go to my websites to watch videos or casually search the web. Remember all those websites that bring you to another tab full of malware as soon as you try to interact with the page? FORGET about it. No ads here. Nada. I genuinely love this app and will continue to support it.

A helpful alternative

So far the app is stable and performs well. I especially like their Windows browser helper.

All my folders have been deleted

None pack your --- with salt

Super bad news the new version deletes folders and renders the app useless. Folders are the only way I interact to navigate web resources. Too bad since otherwise this is one of the best I-Phone browsers. Sadly no longer very useful for me.

Really good adblocker

sendosakuragi

This literally saved my life. I watch a ton of anime, and as you know, the apps give ads like there’s no tomorrow. But with this app, there are no ads and I can watch freely. Thank you.

Mixed feelings

I liked Ghostery. Even told friends about it. I like some new additions with the big overhaul and update but making bookmarks and managing them has become so much more difficult now. From what I can tell it’s a 3 step process to make a favorite. And I cannot tell a single way to remove one.
