NEW: Speak out your contact name!
You've seen it on other smart phones and now its also there on your iPhone. Use your finger to draw the first few letters of you contact on the screen, just as you would write them on paper, and press dial. Or click the microphone, and speak out the name of your contact.
No more fiddling with ultra small letters on the iPhone keyboard while driving. Dialing is childsplay.. literally!
There is also an option to let the app speak out the characters as you write them.
The character recognition depends on the handwriting style, but if it misreads the letter, just cross it out like you would do when writing with a pen.
For the voice recognition, it works best with English names. But you will be presented with a list of contacts that are most similar to the recognized voice input.
Gesture Find is free for now, get it while it lasts!
Doesn't easily recognize the letters I'm drawing. Ends up being more work than it's worth. I even handed my phone to others to try in the event it was operator error.
Gesture Find takes a little while to get used to, but after that, it's a great way to improve productivity!
I have been using this a lot. I have a long contact list and drawing the first letters of names works well to find them fast. The voice is a nice touch. Recommended.
Pretty similar to a different smart phone app that is one of only a few features that I missed switching to an iPhone. Well now there is one less! Works pretty well!
Impossible to get it to recognize letters right! C is (, A is (, O is D. Ultimately, its more work b/c u keep trying and trying to get the right letters.
I was not able to get it to spell a cap E instead it was always giving me an L
