Just about everything good that can be said about this ap can be found in the other reviews so I will skip all the usual superlatives. What really separates GeoShred from other guitar aps is its amazing depth. The degree to which you can fine-tune every aspect of the sound and performance characteristics of each preset is extraordinary. Also the presets themselves (and there are dozens and dozens of them) demonstrate the tremendous range of instruments that the ap can emulate. It provides everything from the ability to fine-tune the level of string transients to the abilty to use a seemingly countless range of modes and turnings, plus the ability to create any number of additional ones. There is nothing like this ap out there. And there probably never will be another that will approach it. Finally, the sound quality of the original waves and the FX is top-notch. It does not get any better. Totally amazing. My only complaints are these: The tremendous depth complicates GeoShred's ease-of-use. That is not a major problem becuase you can just skip over all the deep controls and stick with the kid stuff, if you prefer. Secondly, I have trouble with what appears to be a bug: apparently creating a preset does not save the scale and tuning; the scale keeps reverting to a mode I did not select. Weird, but I hope they will fix this fairly minor problem.

When I showed this app to my dad, who has been playing electric guitar for over 50 years, the smile on his face was huge! The pitch slides you can pull off with no effort are mind blowing! This sounds better than any other guitar simulation I have ever heard.

Just got this on the Black Friday sale.... The most inspiring fun app to play for me... UI / playability is great and with the presets to jump from, every note takes me somewhere else.

Playing sounds within the app is amazing, as many other reviews have stated. However, I’m happiest about the recent updates that have made it a great MIDI controller with MPE. I’ve used it with other iOS apps, as well as with hardware synths, and I love it!

I am just getting the tip of my toes in this ocean of sounds. The octaves, the effects, the presets, the scales, the sounds. Everything in this app is more than out of this world. An special app for guitarists and for wannabe guitarists like me. You can do everything that a guitar can do and more. What has been accomplished here has to be thought by futuristic nerd aliens. 6 stars. The New Arabic scales is a great idea I have been tuning GeoShred for months into those scales for fun and now it’s all about selecting them. Didn’t there were that much Arabian scales and kinds of styles. Thanks again GeoShred. What we need now is different guitarists presets like Gilmour, Jeff Beck, Steve Vai, Hendrix. That would be amazing. I keep adding to this review but this guys deserve all the best. Get it now!!!!

I'm a guitar player. Why would I need a guitar emulation app? This isn't just a guitar emulation app. This has sounds that are inspired by guitar and you play as if you were playing on strings (depending on your settings), i.e. bends and vibrato, you can set up your signal chain like you would a guitar, but the sounds that come out of this are much different from anything I've ever been able to pull from six strings over a couple of magnets sent through some transistors and into some tubes for amplification. If you don't know the fretboard there are now settings that make it easy for anyone to play music in GeoShred. If you prefer a keyboard controller it has the necessary midi capabilities. I haven't looked in depth at the midi programmability so I don't know if mapping is available but I assume there is probably some because I've seen videos of Jordan Rudess playing on a Roli Seaboard controlling this app and it sounds amazing with the multidimensional control that keyboard affords. To my knowledge there isn't another synthesizer that creates guitar inspired sounds in the way that this one does and the sounds are pretty awesome. That alone makes this a must have app. Awesomely unique. One of my favorite ways to jam... I open up Korg Gadget and create a progression using the synths and drum machines available within. Once I have something that's good to jam over I put it on infinite repeat and flip over to GeoShred where I can practice speed technique or just cut loose and wail. Lots of fun and different every time.

It's a fantastic guitar, but excellent for other purposes As well. Highly recommended for anyone who with music on your iDevice!
