Doesn’t keep its promises

My genie is not approved for many months now. I signed up right after the app announcement. Recent update suggested an option to be approved through one referral (guest invite). I sent that guest invite to my friend, she prepared her genie and surprisingly she is also stuck in the approval queue despite the fact that the app promises an approval for both. Neither happened. Moreover, another friend prepared his genie and sent his invite to me - and again nothing happened for both of us. Is this “use your invite and you both will be approved” just a trick to gain more users? I’m tired of all this “exclusivity” plays, it’s simply childish. Update 1: not able to use it still. Noticed that all 1 star reviews are real reviews with detailed explanations and all 5 stars reviews are absolute fakes with generic praises and founders’ promotional BS. When I try to open the app now it shows me a “bad request” message, it looks like they deleted all the unwanted accounts. If they really intend to use the app for a limited group of ppl than it’s the dumbest business model I’ve ever witnessed. Update 2: I was right, they deleted my account and after re-downloading the app I was offered to create a new account, nice! And they have a new feature now: they suggest you to move you up the waiting list if you tag them in your IG story, and we all know that links and tags in stories are available only for those who have 10k+ followers:) they suggest you self censorship guys:) I will be updating you on the next “creative” features of this “future of social networking” group of idiots will invent, so stay tuned.

The app is fun if you let people use it. At first I thought it was ok since you did need to wait for approval to use the app which I think is ridiculous. Now they are doing this new virtual thing and you have to request a number to be able to use it. I mean seriously this is just an app, who do you think you are Hermès . Even if you get the number you want , what if your friend doesn’t the whole point is to have your friends and people you know in it too so you can do things in the app with them. You need to stop doing all these approval stuff and make it available to everyone! No one is going to use your app anymore!

New Hair styles please

I’m a little disappointed the app itself is good but it needs more hair styles I’m a female who has dreads so it would be nice to have dreads for females instead of just males, you should make hairstyles for both male and females ....

Where is my genie?

I waited for my genie to be approved for over a year. I clicked on the app after updating it and it said my genie would be approved after I sent an invite to one of my friends. I sent my invite (and my friend made her genie) and now, for 2 months my screen has said “congratulations welcome to genies, your genie is being prepared! You’ll be able to say hi to it very soon (We’ll notify you).” I’m wondering when that’s going to be? In a couple years or so...? I’ve tried to get customer support, but there is none! This app is frustrating.

Same complaint as all the other one-stars. I’ve been in “review” over a month and forgot about this app. Deleting and sticking with Bitmoji which actually functions. I wouldn’t be so inclined to leave negative feedback if there was any way to do ANYTHING else with the app, even contact support, but it’s just a permanent waiting screen and a waste of however much time I spent making the genie.

I really like the app. But my news don’t update. It has been the same for 3 days. Tried deleting the app and downloading it again and logging in but still no luck. :(
