"Captured by one of Orlandes City’s most infamous brotherhoods, the Red Hand Guild, you are thrown to the mercy of the subterranean world deep beneath the streets of the great capital. Wading through the sewers and other dark menacing places, your goal is to reach Undercity, the City beneath the City! Only there can you find the help you need to escape this underground horror and bring down the dark brotherhood from within."

"My favourite examples so far though are the iPad and iPhone-compatible Gamebook Adventures, a series of lovingly crafted and extremely well-written interactive fantasy novels. It's surprisingly engrossing stuff, the economically written narrative packing in masses of detail, while rattling out a pacey, involving story." - The Guardian

"Catacombs of the Undercity is the best entry into the Orlandes series I’ve played yet. It’s exciting, atmospheric and even amusing at times, plus there are plenty more beasties to battle too." - iPhoneFreak (4/5)

Gamebook Adventures 5: Catacombs of the Undercity is the fifth in a series of newly written adventure gamebooks for the iPhone, iPod Touch and now beautifully realised for the iPad! We are completely original and not simply a re-print of old gamebooks.

•Written by Andrew Wright, Gamebook Adventures 5 takes you on an swashbuckling quest from the sewers of Orlandes City to the subterranean metropolis of Undercity.
•Pirkka Harvala, the popular illustrator from An Assassin in Orlandes, is back! His beautiful illustrations bring to life the denizens of this strange underworld.
•Battle an array of creatures from acid ghouls to spirit demons and find ways to get your revenge against the Red Hand Guild.
•Hire mercenaries to aid you in your quest!
•Unique battle system using realistic 3D dice which can be rolled by shaking your iDevice.

This book is hard. If you want your Momma's "Choose Your Own Adventure" this ain't it. This book is a real dungeon crawler. I mapped out sections of this dungeon. It was great. What a challenge! Good use of NPCs too. I loved it. And yes, I even enjoyed the subtle pop culture reference which would be easy to miss if you are not paying attention.

Amazing fun, SciFi PLEASE!

Love the books so far. Head and shoulders above the other game book series on iPad. I know the gamebook roots are in Fantasy, and I love the stories so far, but I would LOVE to see some genre diversity soon. Some Science Fiction would be great. I think mystery/suspense books could work nicely. One thing that I have always wanted, and I don't know how feasible it would be, is to have the ability to "take" your character with you from one book to the next. I thought I saw someone doing this already, but I'm not sure if it's possible with this level of detail and involvement in the stories. Heck I would even like to see a series of "Animal Fantasies" akin to books like "Watership Down" and "Redwall". Hell, "Raptor Red" would've made an awesome idea for a Gamebook. Sorry, got carried away there. For new readers, get this gamebook, you won't be disappointed. Thanks again Tin Man!

Evolution of gamebooks
Evil mind

Very well written and executed game. New generation of gamers prefers shooting pinguins in Angry Bird, but for guys like me who spent their childhood reading gamebook series with flashlight under blanket, this is a true gem. Keep'em coming, Tin Man

Confused

I really feel that when rolling the dice this game favors your adversaries. And low level monsters are attacking you for 25% of your vitality points. Just doesn't make it fun when the first monster I come across, I end up fighting with for fifteen minutes. Rolling and rolling and ROLLING, just watching this stupid blood rat kick my butt. These developers need to take these, and a few other bad guys down a notch or two. I really want to like this game and download the others but I just don't feel like it's worth it...

Amazing!

Great stories. Captivating gameplay. Gamebook has everything you've been looking for in a portable RPG'esque app. Highly recommend for fans of the genre!

Awesome gamebooks

This one in my opinion is the hardest one so far out of the 7 that are out at the moment. Replayed it multiple times just to finally get the right items/path to get the ultimate ending. Great gamebook!

Mature story and multiple paths to take
