The Ford Remote Access app is free of charge.
Additional Genuine Ford Accessories hardware is required to control vehicle features. The Genuine Ford Accessories hardware is available through and must be installed on your vehicle by an authorized Ford Dealer.
Once installed your Ford dealer will provide a SIM and PIN which is needed to add the vehicle to the account.
A yearly subscription fee is required.
The Ford Remote Access app allows consumers to:

• Receive Security Notifications (optional feature)
This application is designed with a Power Save Mode feature that protects your vehicle battery charge when parked for an extended period.

This app is very bland and the interface looks outdated. I will say that for the purpose it works, it starts my car and operates other features. An updated look and support for smart watches would be great.

I live in the New England, I.e. long cold winters so you would think that a remote car starter would be pretty useful. Wrong, this thing works less often than it does. Don’t waste your LARGE amount of money on this thing. The app doesn’t work and is extremely old and outdated.

This app has not been updated since 2013! People are paying to use this service and when IOS updates and the Ford remote app does not work, you are going to have a lot of angry customers. Please update!

I've had this app for a little over a year now. I had it installed on my new CMax when we bought the car. The app generally performs very well. Living in South Texas where it gets into the triple digits I love being able to start the car when I'm in the grocery store so that by the time I get out to the car it's nice & cook. I started getting messages about it needing to be updates which I thought would go away after I paid for the renewal but I still get the error message from time to time. It is rather annoying & I wish they would fix it. I paid a lot of money for this system last year. Now I'm finding out that when the new iOS 11 comes out this app will no longer work & I just paid for a subscription renewal. FORD YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS COMPLIANT WITH NEW APP GUIDELINES!!! If this stops working I want my money back for the system & for the recent subscription renewal!!! The Remote access & the app will be worthless!

Now when I open the app I get a notification "this app will not work with future versions of iOS. The developer of this app needs to update it" This hasn't been updated since 2013. Please update

The app works great. Have for my Fusion and Explorer. Now seeing that when iOS 11 comes out may be incompatible. Have $1000 spent on two systems that I won't be able to use. Come on

An accessory is required for this to operate? Then an annual fee?!? This function came free on my Silverado. I just spent $55k on a truck. This is ridiculous.

This app works as advertised and is very handy to have. I have had no issues at all other than the occasional communication errors . It would be nice to see if Ford would update the app though. iOS keeps telling me that it could be harmful.
