Stops working and needs to be reinstalled constantly

pethedog

I have been paying for the app services for about 5-6 months and in that time I have had to uninstall, reinstall, and google fixes every month or more because the app either won’t activate at all, or it will not turn off Full Lock Mode and I don’t have access to any of my apps, even with access to high speed Internet at work and at my house. When it works, it is great, but it only works 60-70% of the time. I will not be renewing my subscription and I encourage others to do more research for more reliable options before working with Flipd.

loved it until

i loved using the app on full lock mode so i can concentrate on doing my work, however, once my phone was unlocked after the 1 hour, all my apps were taken out of their folder and it made a mess on my home pages

Best app ever!

This app has helped me stay focused on so many of my study sessions during the school year, and it helps me stay off my phone when I need a mental break. This app is amazing! I will continue using this for as long as I can!

Not great

I was so excited to have an app that would help me focus, but it doesn’t do what it says. To go into full lock mode, you have to install a third party app. Okay, cool. Do that. Then it tells you your internet connection doesn’t work. Uh? No? I’m connected since I DOWNLOADED YOU AND YOUR THIRD PARTY APP. It’s pretty, but it doesn’t work.

Decent app, terrible business model

Chris_18!!!!!

The app is ok, similar to a few of the other ones that do similar stuff although from my time using it you can’t really access the apps that go away during the entire time period , there’s no work around I believe, so that’s a good thing. However after the trip where I didn’t plan on canceling i saw that it automatically renewed for the year at 30. I have a distaste for apps with that business model where you trial , then get hit with a charge and that’s literally their business mode. So a decent app, but unscrupulous model.

Definitely helpful

This app is great to keep you on task and away from apps that waste your time. The one thing it needs is to be able to pick certain apps to lock since some of the apps are actually used for work/studying rather than time wasting. Other than that great work

$30 for more stress and anxiety

So I signed up for the 7 day trial on a recommendation from my partner. Every time I downloaded the app or tried to troubleshoot I could NEVER get the full Flipd app to work. I already use Forest app as a pomodoro tool so I didn't need this in my life. On top of that I was CHARGED the day after the trial begun for the FULL YEAR. DO NOT download. I hope this app rots in app store hell. Good luck Not getting anymore funding ??

Bad customer service

apple customer 48365

If you don’t cancel your 7-day free trial in time, you are automatically charged for the annual subscription. Apple will not refund your purchase and the Flipd customer service will direct you to Apple refund services and then tell you that you must not have read the terms and conditions.

Probably as good as full lock can get given iOS limitations

(I was looking for an app that could achieve a true lock down of non-essential apps. I only tried the 5 minute lock down on this app once, and haven’t used the app since.) As many others have said, full lock is an excellent idea but not great in execution. Others complained about the apps being out of order - that was fine for me. What I can’t live with is having my notification settings reset every time I get back from lock mode. I assume this is how the app works: they achieve lock mode by uninstalling and reinstalling all of your applications. The profile you install gives their servers access to control your phone remotely - which is why an internet connection is necessary. However, it seems that the scope of what they can control is limited - most likely due to iOS’s own limitations. The additional script you download seems to be a workaround to reorganize your apps as you had before, but it doesn’t restore your notification preferences on the apps that were un/reinstalled. Your apps give you the “allow notifications” pop-up next time you go into each of them. If you are OK with default notification settings, maybe this is a limitation you can live with. I customize the notifications for each app and I am not willing to readjust those every time I use lock down.

Doesn't work

I was able to go into the profile and "remove management" thereby deleting the lock mode
