Good tool for scanning networks

I have had the basic version for several years and find it helpful checking what is connected to a given network . I fear they will upgrade to a $$ fee to use it in the future!

Why can’t I name / label a device and have that label show up with future scans?

I understand there is an OS limitation to scan MAC addresses, but make it easier for me to add them in myself, or scan with my computer and merge the results.
