About the EyeTV Mobile TV tuner
This app requires the Elgato EyeTV Mobile tuner. The compact TV tuner connects directly to your iPad or iPhone and receives digital TV via its supplied miniature telescopic antenna. EyeTV Mobile doesn’t need an internet connection so you can enjoy live TV as long as you want, without touching your data plan. I only got 1 channel and i am 10 miles away from downtown san diego. not worth $100. I am returning this with a smile. I cant believe they would sell something like this... Its almost like its a partially functioning prototype.

I am trying everything to try and get this "thing" to recognize the Free EyeTV Mobile app on a third generation iPad. So far it always gets to the point of waiting for this thing to connect to that app and stops… Unless there is a fix in the next couple of days… back it goes! Too bad...

This device and app work very well. I am about 15 miles north of charlotte, nc and I pick up 8 channels. Would like to see more options. How about hooking up with cable providers to allow more channels with authentication. Similar to Espn app. Reception and picture quality are decent. Perfect tv during power outages or for passengers in the car. I drove 30 minutes and the picture never flickered. Worked on my 2 iPads and iPhone 4S. One thing.........make sure the battery is charged on the eye mobil device. All in all a good product. The reviews don't seem fair to me. It woks exactly as advertised. Just one mans opinion. Also, not sure why nfl games are blacked out. Makes no sense. Change that and get a few more options and this is 5 star.
