Form should follow function

Absolutely unacceptable, the whole point of the app is the data presentation, and that was completely destroyed on both the summary and the detailed view. No labels on the y-axis, absurd data smoothing, individual data points are gone, wide blank margins wasting space instead of presenting more data or wider view. Downgraded to 2.8.

Temp ok

T Bolt

My weather eves are 8% and 12% inaccurate for humidity. This renders them useless for humidity. Everything else is good. Love the compare mode. Would rate 3.5.

Eve Room incredibly slow to sync

AppEagle

I have 4 Eve Room devices throughout the house. It takes for ever for them to sync. Not a good show. :(

inacurate weather graphs for day, week and month

chokypur

after last update, weather graphs for day, week and month are unusable because they are so inacurate. Who is responsible for this step backward? Fortunately in app store is still old version Elgato Eve for old iOS 9, which still works with latest iOS with better graphs.

Works fine, graph handling could be improved

Elgato use Bluetooth LE which has many advantages but needs a HomeKit hub in range. Graph smoothing can be disabled in Settings to bring the old graphs back. I would prefer to pinch to zoom the time axis in the graphs instead of using a menu.

It's a good enough first version(Eve degree)

I originally thought that the temperature was way off, but it just takes some time for the sensors to adjust. Be very careful with rules. I set one up with my Honeywell thermostat and a power outage somehow messed with the rule. The thermostat was trying to kick on but the rule I set with the Eve app clogged it. Once I removed the rule the thermostat kicked on.

Uninspired

BeamerDude

I've been using the El Gato Weather monitoring device and the Eve app for over a year, and I must say, the app is uninspired to say the least. To see the history of measurements (temperature or humidity), one must launch the app and sit there while the data is downloaded. Using features like "Compare" and "Graph Line Smoothing" leaves you scratching your head. What in the heck were they thinking? Compare to what?? And the graph line smoothing does just about nothing. What a waste of code space. This app leaves a lot to be desired. El Gato went cheap and has left us disappointed. Are they serious about their business? I wonder what tech support would be like. Hopefully, I won't ever have to find out.

Great app probably one of the best HomeKit vendors as well

majorgearhead

I use Elgato Eve door switches for now but plan on getting their new Eve smoke detectors all throughout my house. One this is certain, these guys eat sleep and breath HomeKit and find new and novel ways to support it. This app is a perfect companion to the iOS Home app. It integrates perfectly and doesn’t overstep. It presents the info in such a way that it is superior for controlling your smart home. Bottom line, Elgato is a great company who makes great products and software. Oh and their engineers are ultra accessible and helpful. Hope to get a ton more HomeKit stuff from them.

Needs a patch

Crusty102

Ever since the update all that deleting all measurements does is delete it and then force it to redownload all measurements again. 1600 activities is way too many to keep track of and I hope this gets fixed soon!

Not user friendly

CT Mom 12

As another user says, while it’s great to plug in and turn my switch on or off by phone, there seems to be no way to program it at all. At one point I got to something which looked like it might be able to turn my lights on at sunset, but it didn’t save my setting, and I could never get to that point again. There are minimal instructions with the product or on the app. I have used a lot of NEST products in my home without any difficulties but received this switch as a gift- I will not be buying other products in this brand unless the user friendliness improves.
