Great game

Pylod

Great board game. I own it on my ipad and iphone and bought ALL the expansions for both versions. Thats how i loved this game so much. I also have lords of waterdeep, agricola, carcassone, etc. U name it, i have it, but this ones my favorite.

Fix the dice roll generator!!!

SWS1968

The game has an eerie feel to it, the music adds to that, even if it has been used in other games. The game made me go out and buy the board game, which is far superior all because of one thing... The dice roll generator. Like other reviews point out, it just seems awfully coincidental that you can't seem to get the die you need to win most of the time. In the board game you stand a much better chance rolling what you need. This game makes you feel the odds are stacked in the games favor. If you want to do that, make it a game mode. Fix the dice roll generator and this will be a much more fun game. As is I hardly play it and would never consider the expansion.

Might be fun for fans of the boardgame. But not easy to learn, and taking away the tactile fun of rolling dice makes it less fun than it otherwise is. Also not an intuitive game to learn to win. Will require dozens of plays before strategies become apparent. More time than most will want to invest. I own dozens of FF board games and have played boardgames-to-apps I love like neroshima hex b/c the app is better, or at least as good/fun, as the original. This is not. Again, it will likely appeal to fans of the cooperative boardgame especially those who play solo. For me, a wasted 6 bucks. FF, an in-game tutorial would definitely be helpful to noobs. Videos and encyclopedic rules just don't do it. If I want something I must to study to learn, I will choose a boardgame with rules that are handy.

Not worth the money..

I own the boardgame by the same company. the artwork is great. BUT the game itself is not. Unable to even defeat a single room with over 8 spells and thats on any level easy to hard. the game is rigged against the player so much that I will win the lottery before I beat this game twice in a room let alone once a day. I would advice not purchasing it at all.

Infuriating User Interface

OhioBrian

I haven't played this game enough to have any opinion about whether the dice generator is rigged or not. But I am at my wits' end with this cluttered, unhelpful, unforgiving user interface. A good, challenging cooperative game makes every turn count, and a wasted turn should be enough to wreck your chances under the wrong circumstances. This game makes it FAR too easy to accept the wrong quest, use the wrong item, save the wrong die, etc., and any such instance can kill your chances of success. This game desperately needs an UNDO button, which would work right until you roll the dice. Until then, I've HAD it.

Awesome game

In today's world of games pandering to the instant gratification crowd this game is a refreshing break! The game can be difficult, especially at the beginning; however, I actually felt a sense of accomplishment the first time I won a game. And, for anybody even remotely familiar with H.P. Lovecraft's work, this game's setting and difficulty fit right in. The world of the Cthulhu Mythos is not supposed to be easy, in fact, there is no winning side for humanity, ever. If a character somehow survives an encounter in the stories, that character is the worse for it! I commend the developers for keeping in the spirit of the genre! Please, keep the difficulty level as it is ( or harder) and let those who seek instant gratification in their games look elsewhere.

Great iPad Version and Expansions!

Nas4at2

If you have played the board game version of this, you'll be pleasantly surprised with this version. There are a few rule/mechanic variations than the physical game, but nothing that makes it feel different in any sense. The core game lets you choose/play against four ancient ones with the option of buying expansions at 2.99 a piece. Don't be afraid by other reviews claiming the game is rigged. Trust me when I say this that the developers most certainly wouldn't waste time trying to stack the rolls against you. This game is supposed to be difficult and require some strategy. You will win some and you'll lose some. This game can also be played with others in person. You can select four investigators, so you can pass the iPad around per turn. As for the three expansions, play the core game first and see how you like it. I absolutely love the expansions because they give you a fresh new take on the game, adding new gameplay objectives and definitely more challenges.

Favorite Board Game Perfect For iPad

Eldoric

I first saw this game on TableTop on YouTube. At first it looked a little too complicated but after watching the episode again, I quickly started to see how it worked. I downloaded the game and now I am hooked. It is still my number one go to game on both my phone and my iPad. It is a must buy if you are a fan of H P Lovecraft and great table top games. Thanks

Amazing

Zombie Gamer

The art, music and writing is amazing. A very immersive game. I've bought all of the new levels and love them. I hope they include the option to add the Elder Signs Unseen Forces expansion. I'd buy it it right away!

Great game but too hard

Foxcub

This could be a lot more fun if things weren't always luck of the draw. Normal mode is more like difficult.. I realize it is about figuring out the right team but sometimes it feels like the game is no longer fun and just frustrating
