Ecosia Search - plant trees while you search the web
Ecosia Search is a search engine that uses at least 80% of its profits from ad revenue to finance tree planting programs around the world. The Ecosia iOS app uses Ecosia Search as its default search engine so you can plant trees while browsing the web. Planting trees is good for the planet, people and the climate. Trees create fertile forests, healthy communities and a strong local economy.

Ok, so. This app if great but it is very very very slow. And no, it is not my internet connection because my google works fine. I like that you do not need to sign up, you also feel like a good person after you have made enough searches to plant a tree.

THANK YOU !!!

This app is an example of great ethical work that the tech world is capable of producing. Wish your work was the rule, not the exception...

Awesome Idea, Weak Execution

Had to remove app and revert to Chrome after a few days, because as much as I want to plant trees, I cannot sacrifice efficiency and function in my browser. This browser needs to be re-engineered to mimic Google Chrome. It’s missing vital bells and whistles that make it obsolete for me.

American Trees

The app is great idea and I Like the privacy features, but I was disappointed to see No American Trees, since you are using Apple ( American ) platform and American Dollars in support your great endeavors. I would like to see more trees in North America. ? United States of America , I’m sure more than 40% donations are American , so why not a new tree in Philly Dallas New York etc ? _ Again like the privacy features will continue using in Hope , you will plant a tree in American City near you..

Eh
Majestic :)

I love the idea of helping grow trees but the search engine honestly barely works and gives me the worst choices to what I’m searching ... I wish I was good enough!!! ??? I wanted to help plant trees!!!

A step in the right direction.

I’m grateful and 100% supportive for what the program is trying to do. This is critical time and more people need to take part in something to save the planet. The app itself runs a lot smoother than I had expected, but there’s a few features I would love to see being added for better experience . Open link in new tab. I know it’s not a problem on pc but I can’t seem to do it on the app. Auto select all text when tapping the search bar. Search within website. Dark mode. Not necessary but easier on the eyes. I believe Ecosia team is doing their best to make a positive impact on the planet, hopefully the app can keep improving and attract more people to become a part of something great.

Love it

Downloaded it to be part of the cause to help the Brazil rainforest if I can’t personally help stop the fire I might as well help the planet a little bit at a time

Good app, could be better

The idea of Ecosia is very nice. The UI of the app is also nice and simpler. The app functionality, however, could use some major improvements. There’s no swiping gestures enabled, so if u wanted to go back a page you would have to physically tap the back button. Another case would be if u wanted to get rid of a tab. You can’t swipe, you would have to tap the button. Another issue occurs when ur scrolling. The buttons at the bottom disappear. This in it of itself is not an issue. The issue is when u want the buttons to appear back. If u want it to come back, you would have to physically scroll back up a bit, instead of simply tapping the bottom like safari. Lastly, there isn’t a private mode. Overall, the search and UI is great, it’s just that the implementation needs more time to be fleshed out.

love it!! but there’s still some issues
