I have updated attempted to use on a variety of new iOS devices with multiple headsets both Bluetooth and not. I have only come close to blowing my eardrums out with the feedback sound amplified via new beats. :/

I’ll enjoy this app. It’s great for hearing the tv louder than it is. You can use it to hear the sound of people, as well. The people need to be speaking near the mic of the iPhone, if you have the app installed on the IPhone. I’m using a stereo noise-canceling headset from a local discount store. Start with the volume on the app as low as it goes, and then turn up the volume to where it’s comfortable.

Been using this as a temporary hearing aid replacement and it works quite well ( I have profound hearing loss and am using it with wired sealed ear headphones). There is a little bit of delay when I speak - almost but not quite an echo. Problems: 1) app is a energy hog runs down iPhoneSE battery quite quickly 2) doesn't always recover when I switch it to off, wait awhile (30 min) and switch it back on - need to kill and restart it 3) 5 band equalizer works well but is heavily skewed towards low end. If reconfigured so freq bands are more like 100, 750, 1500, 3000 and 14000 I think it would be better ( save and load configure is a big win) 4) intrusive and obnoxious ads in the free version are are a real turnoff, especially when trying to load configure where they block the entire screen. So 5* app potential but -1*for ad handling and -1* for all the other problems
