Terrible controls!
DGH12

These tap controls need to be fixed! I try to tap the dwarf to defend, but I guess I'm a hair off and end up running in a circle and then I get hit. Also, what do I do with gold? Where/ how do I spend it? The frame rate on my iPod touch 4G is very choppy. The graphics don't even seem that demanding. I really wanted to enjoy this game, but I can't get over these issues...

Dwarf Quest is great fun!

Saw the video for this online and decided to give it a try because it reminded me of an old NES game called Solstice that I used to love as a kid! I have had a lot of fun so far, and have really enjoyed the throwback to days of yore!

Great game.

As someone else pointed out this is an excellent game reminiscent of Solstice on NES. It's fun to explore and the controls are easy and intuitive. I've read a couple of complaints in regards to the controls and just want to mention that the game is universal but and iPod or iPhone are just too small for a game like this. I just recently got an iPad and found that games that would've been frustrating on my iPhone are a pleasure on my iPad. Not everything works on a smaller screen.

Great game

I love this game. It reminds me of the older dungeon crawler. Except the graphics are beautiful and you are really immersed in the game. You feel like you spent the evening in a real castle. Love the characters and the simplistic tools yet it provides a challenging game. Don't think about it. Just trust me and do it.

Did I finish the game?
my nickname for me

I like the casual dungeon game. This one is easy to pick back up. And when you die, it saves your game right outside where you were when you died, often with a little extra health to overcome the challenge. This game is pretty good for basic game play - graphics, controls. Themap is helpful but needs to mark things like chests that need keys to open. Story is light but good so I'd like more of it. Enemy difficulty is about right, maybe too predictable. (spoiler alert) Where I am confused is, I have 5000 gold and no where to spend it. I also got to a circular dungeon with a boss in the middle who shoots electric bolts. There is cool triumphant music that plays as I battle him. When he died, nothing. No door opened. Nothing happened. I just wonder the dungeon in search of the next place. Nothing shows up on the map as a placebo haven't been. If that's the ending, it is totally lame for such a cool game.

Nice

Slick game. Runs easy, turn based battle, dungeon crawler. I like it!! Controls are super easy. Nice game to pick up when bored.

Great, but buggy.
Chozothebozo

A good linear dungeon crawling experience, only it's riddled with bugs. Often times I find myself running through walls, clicking chests without a prompt telling me it's locked, and I even encountered a bug where I died at the Minotaur boss and respawned next to him with enough health to die again, causing an endless loop, forcing me to restart my entire file.

Would have given it 5 stars but...
triptych999

I tried several times to get past the first boss, having to start all over because the save puts you right back in to the impossible situation over and over again! And nothing I do even does damage! There's no hints or tips about what to do, and you can't save right outside so you just end up dying over and over pointlessly. Bad design!

It's ok. Nice graphics and style, but not exciting.

The game is alright, but I wish I could have tried it first. Some of the text goes off the screen (3GS) and it's easy to miss tap and do the wrong moves in combat. This doesn't matter so much as the fact that there isn't really a story and it gets really boring after about 5 minutes. I'll give it some more time. On the plus side it does remind me of the old NES game Solstice. Cool graphical style and presentation, just not exciting.

Stuck
EagleObx75

Hit a dead end. When you die you reload with the same health as when you died. I currently have no battle cards so when it reloads I immediately get killed in the next battle. There is no way to acquire additional potions or battle cards. What it the purpose of getting gold if there is no way to spend it. My only option is to restart the game.
