I remember when Dragon's Lair showed up at the "Space Port" in the 80's. It was the most "realistic" game ever. The way this was accomplished is that you are not actually controlling the character's every move - you're watching a cartoon, and you have brief moments in which you can affect the story. If you go the right direction - sometimes within a split second window - you could continue the story. I remember putting $.50 into this baby... A dear amount for a 13 year old in the 80s... and getting only about a minute of gameplay. This game was HARD! I loved it though. It was often broken. So many times I showed up to play it and the screen was dark. I've really enjoyed getting to try it again. Don't believe the people who are complaining about this. If you complain about this marvelous port of the game, you do not understand it. The reviews made me hesitate for a year to buy it. Make sure you set the options right... turn off the "move guide" right away. Get engrossed in the story. If you aren't a child of the 80s, you might want to stay away. We were the Original Gamers.... and we know a great game when we see one.

I remember playing this game 30 years ago and was pleasantly surprised at this version. True, the control joystick is a little bit in the way. However, after playing a few times I just watched the screen and moved by watching the cues. So the joystick and sword button are really a a non-issue. I finished the arcade game once when I was 13 and never could do it again. Until now. Great experience for $5.00!

I used to play this game when it was in the arcades. Never finished it. Always ran out of quarters. The only person I ever saw finish it was my younger brother. Maybe having it on the iPad I will finally master this. The only thing I'd like to see is an update to get some of the text and the icon in higher resolution for the newer devices.

I just wasted 5 bucks. This is one of the worst games I've ever played. It's so stupid! I wish I could get my money back.

I hear apparently that the controls are "unresponsive", that's not true. It is a game where timing must be perfect. This game is one that brings nostalgia to many, including Space Ace. But what is most enjoyable is accomplishing the game after the hard work done.

For $5 I shouldn't have to repurchase for iPhone or iPad. Also, don't know if it is because processor speeds have increased, but the cues, and action happen so fast, you can't really watch the animated scene. You have to just follow the arrow prompts. Sorta misses the point.

Bigger Joystick Buttons please

Fantastic port! It is *exactly* like the arcade! Thanks for this incredible game. The joystick buttons are hard to hit and easy to miss even when you know the right move. Lots of times my finger is right on it and it does not register my move. I think an easy fix would be bigger buttons. Having the sword close to the joystick would help a lot, too. Please could you increase the button size? I envision buttons twice as big. Or better. Maybe a circle divided into quarters with each quarter being a button (and the sword nearby). This would go a long way toward making an excellent port perfect. Thanks very much for this game! A must have for all fans. I dearly love it.

Great Game but moves won't register BEEP.

Everything about the game is just like the arcade version. Fantastic!!! HOWEVER, the only complaint I have, is that the moves won't register a BEEP once you complete correctly. This is a huge defect!! The game is completely useless to me, if I can't hear the moves register. Takes away the fun.

Doesn't work, no sound

All these reviews are quite old. Just downloaded and the game doesn't have any sound on my iPad Pro
