Disappointed

I loved this game as a kid but on the iPad, it is not enjoyable. I ended up playing the game with my daughter so we could tap the controls to move through the game. We saved the princess in under one hour. You really don't get to enjoy the graphics because of the controls issue. I also think the game needs to have more levels. Definitely not worth $4.99!

Fun app!

Very enjoyable to have this game again (without having to pay lots of quarters!). Fun, entertaining, great graphics. It's an arcade wherever I have my iPad!

great nostalgia (only)

Bought it for nostalgia and had a great time going through it again. But it definitely does not stand on its own as an iPad game, i.e. don't get it if you didn't love the arcade original. As for all the complaints about the controls, it's a simple joystick overlay on the screen. There's nothing broken about it, it's just that the game demands such exact timing you find yourself staring at the joystick to get through each level in the default cheating mode (where the correct move lights up), and you don't get to enjoy the gorgeous visuals as much. I think they could have fixed it by making the timing more lax... if you had more than 0.1 seconds to make the right move you wouldn't need to stare at it waiting for the next cue. Winning in non-cheating mode seems like it would be insanely difficult. Did the arcade version really demand such tight timing? I can't remember.

Excellent game

This game is 100% awesome and many of the reviews below will lead you to believe otherwise. That's because they all used the cheat mode, the real trick is, play without it then you'll enjoy the real arcade experience. All these 'the game is too easy and I rescued the princess in 20 minutes' are by ppl who began by enabling the cheat. Trust me, this game is hard and very rewarding after you finally figure out how to survive a scene. There was no 'cheat mode' in the arcade and if I remember correctly this was the first game to cost 50cents a play rather than a quarter. Ppl that actually could beat it were wonderful to have around because then you actually got to watch the entire show! Word to the wise...do not enable cheat mode and you'll have a great time at this. It's well worth the 4.99 that back in the day would equal 10 game plays. Big thumbs up from me!

Controls!

Poor control. "standard" layout is not the default. Timing seems much tighter then arcade version. Effectively unplayable.

LOVE!

The Wizardress

Dragon's Lair and Space Ace were the games I played ALL the time when I was a kid in the 1980's... Never stopped loving these games and thought having it on my iPhone was awesome but omg it rocks on my iPad mini... Thank you and please get DL II: Timewarp available in HD format ASAP...

Controls unreliable

Rhodayne

Could be a good game but often the control does not detect the button press. About every 5 moves it doesn't detect the button press and you die. Also, as others have said, the position of the controls removes any possibility of actually watching the game. Might as well have no images at all and just have some blinking buttons.

Poor Controls

Would be great if the timing was relaxed. I find the game unplayable at times. Brings back good memories; however, I would not recommend if you actually want to experience what you enjoyed in the past.

Dragon's Lair

I remember when this came out. It was one of the last arcade games I played before I moved on to other interests. That said I enjoy this app, but can't get past the fifth jump on the electric chessboard. Is there a glitch?

Awful

dlarionov

Good graphics, but totally awful gameplay. Absolutely unmanageable personage, stupid game controls. Waste of money.
