what a rip off

i tell it to go to the manual and it takes me to thier web site to sell me more stuff. What good does that do if i cant get this to work. At least i have a laser measurement tool.

Pairing to the measuring device works well, but the data transfer to the sketching component doesn't always work nor does the keyboard launch for text entry tool.

I purchased a DISTO D2 to use with this app to create marketing floor plans. I knew this was not meant to be a full floor planning app with fixtures, appliances, etc., but it doesn't even seem capable of splitting or merging simple line segments. That seems like a basic function that should be present in any app specifically marketed as being able to draw basic room layouts. So if I'm trying to draw how one room connects to another, I can either create the entire layout using single line segments, or draw everything in one move. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I have no idea because the documentation is awful. A couple 2-minute YouTube videos and a crappy 4-step tutorial. Buyer beware—I love the hardware but the software is an incomplete solution for many users.

I agree with the other one star review. All or some of the data you input ... they can be disappear... .. it happens many time to me.. just in front of my eyes..all the measurement u put in 10mins ago..they can be just disappear .. so I no longer use the function ..don’t get me wrong ..this is a great feature if it actually works.. but for a instrument like this ... the data are extremely important! How can such a long time reputation company will even have this app go live. Very poor exclusion ! The management in charge of this app .. they all need to be spank!!

This app needs a lot of follow up work and cleansing. The basic idea was there, but the execution of said ideas and what came out of it is extremely disappointing for such a reputable company. Lost measurements, no obvious area calculations, not being able to send PDFs (says your device is not set up for email), no wall function in sketch, very unintuitive sketching. And the list goes on. Leica you can do better considering the price tag of your LMDs. You’re better off reading the measurements of the LMD and writing them down. Or you switch to the competitor in blue.

This app could be so great. I expect so much from a company like Leica. I’ve owned many of their products over the years and they’ve generally shared the trait of having relatively poor English documentation. This app suffers the same. It was a great start. I keep opening it every year hoping it finally lived up to potential which I would gladly pay for. Sigh. I cannot recommend this app right now. (DISTO 810 touch is my current laser measuring tool)

Can’t use my keyboard when connected

I just bought the disto x4 which is a really nice piece of hardware. I downloaded this app to my iPhone 6s Plus. It took some playing around to figure it out, but I ended up generally liking it for sketching building elevations. Unfortunately, it has a fatal flaw for me. My phone keyboard is somehow disabled while my phone is connected to my x4 by Bluetooth. I am unable to switch to a note app to make notes on an inspection or reply to a text. I am also unable to utilize the text function within the disto app. I like the “squiggly line” option where you can draw a free form shape and the app converts it to a square, rectangle or other shape if it appears vaguely like that is what you meant to draw. I imagine it would be even better on an iPad...but again, no keyboard means no bueno.
