If you use an American or any other than a Chinese number the 1st time a didi cancels on you for a no-show they will disable your app for 3 days without notice or anything. First time it happen I deleted my app and tried to reinstall and rebooting my phone. When it happened again I had a Chinese call them and they suspended my account for 5 days for my second no show as the driver will send you a message say “walk to me as I can’t come to you” when you respond with “NO” he will report you saying you never showed up. Pretty stupid for a company to suspend your account when I spend 300 rmb a day driving back and forth to work. They are taking money out of their employees mouth they should impose a small fine of 20RMB to the driver and if you don’t agree then suspend the account! All I have to say VERY POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE! LOL morons!! Funny you can still call a didi and still pay with wechat!

我只想扫个青桔而已，还得下个打车软件，每次打开软件都有一堆广告，默认还是打车的功能，你不能记住我上次用的功能吗？ 装上滴滴之后 ，内置地图的骑行路线功能就变成了调用滴滴，然后显示的是滴滴的专车费用。国人产品大多数做的都这么烂，滴滴搞得内置地图骑行路线功能都不能用了。

Doesn’t work in China they require you to do advanced pay with wechat or Alipay doesn’t sync with your credit cards like Uber or Lyft. Not useful at all.

Very happy to have an option to book cabs with my American Business credit card. Needs improvement for tipping methods, doesn’t allow for foreign credit card payment. Also after you select a alternate payment method for a tip it requests information in Chinese, not too useful that way.

After adding all sorts of cards it never worked. Ended up using public transport as it way more reliable.
Gets me where I need to go, but some features are missing

It’s overall intuitive and easy to use. However, it is frustrating that there are some features missing in the English version. Specifically being able to make more than one stop. Right now we have to communicate with the driver in broken English and we aren’t always successful.

I downloaded the app beforehand and input credit card info. When I arrived at one of the railway station, I found the hotel address easily but when trying to pay only the WeChat and Alipay options came up for prepayment. I don’t understand the point of putting in credit card if it is not a possible option to choose. There was a second option for “cash/scan” but when I choose it, the app loaded forever and no car was assigned. Before choosing the cash option, I could see many DiDi nearby in the app. My speculation is that the drivers didn’t want to deal with cash and so no one took up my ride. Very disappointing because it’s difficult to get a taxi as a foreigner nowadays.

DiDi is a good service but could not use on last trip to China due to payments issues. App kept defaulting to wechat and Alipay which are difficult to use without a Chinese bank account. This is strange as inputted credit card and worked on past trips.
It doesn’t accept US credit cards

I entered a USA issued credit card for payment but it kept asking for WeChat or AliPay. App kept refusing me to call for a ride without one of those payment methods. I decided to call for a taxi and pay cash. What is the point of this app when I can get a taxi without this app.
