I have my xr 2 ah battery connected to the app and it seems to be working good. I'm sure there'll be more improvements but it's a nice feature having the ability to check stats of it and loan it if needed. Now the app wants you to have it know your location at all times which I never allow for any apps. I know for the battery locate feature it's necessary but I don't want to be tracked everywhere so I would prefer not to be bugged about it or have it work only while using the app.

This app is useless. They rolled out an "update" and in doing so it lost all my batteries and I can't find any way to restore them. I contacted DeWalt as directed in the developer response in this review. Below is what I received. "Thank you for contacting us. I would like to apologize. Our technicians are currently working to fix any issues you may be having with our ToolConnect App." Update 8/8/17: DeWalt rolled out another software update just now which did not resolve issue either. Update 8/25/17: DeWalt managed to restore connection to 5 of my 6 batteries. The last one remains an issue. I sent several emails to their support including direct replies to the technicians that reached out to me, all with no response. These batteries are designed to make re-pairing impossible unless you first un-pair it from your device. Since I cannot access it from my phone anymore, DeWalt may have bricked my battery. Update 9/11/17: DeWalt largely ignores my emails now. I received one response on 8/25/17 (presumably due to my last review update) telling me someone would reach out to me, nobody ever did. DeWalt seems to be spending their time moderating these reviews and not answering their support emails.

So I purchased 6 of the XR 4 hour batteries. Battery 1 and battery 2 no longer pair to the app. 3,4,5 and 6 are new and they paired fine. Battery 1 & 2 are 2 weeks old. Wrote an email 2 times to the support email and heard nothing back. I’m going to try and call them today and see what happens. Who knows. Maybe all my battery packs will stop working

My battery is just under two years old. I last had it on my older iPhone 5 and decided to connect it to my iPhone 6s Plus and it refuses to connect. I’ve searched and searched everywhere I cannot find any information on how to connect the battery to a new phone. Fair warning if you’re going to change phones you may have an issue

There is an issue with this connecting to an iPhone 7 Plus. It appears to be connected but will not capture measurements as described. The product works as it is supposed to with android phones. The tool itself is great, the fact that it won’t work with iPhone is probably a simple fix.

Drill won’t connect and dewalt support says they don’t have troubleshooting for the tool connect products without taking it in for repair.
