The D-Link defend app works from anywhere you have an internet connection, so you can monitor your network from home or on-the-go.
I'm very disappointed with D-Link. I'm pretty sure this negative review will get a robo response. But here are the details. I purchased the DIR-2660 because it's a good router and comes with McAfee protection software installed. The McAfee software was a critical component because I want my smart home devices protected. However to activate and configure it you must launch D-Link Defend from D-Link WiFi. WiFi will automatically install Defend and that works. When Defend launches it looks for a compatible router and couldn't find the 2660. I tried many scenarios, none of which worked. Sometimes Defend would launch but was unresponsive. I tried calling support and got an agent that suggested I reinstall Defend and sent me a link for Google Play. She failed to ask if I was using an Android or iOS device. I use iOS. Another one star rating for D-Link. D-Link is now in my rear view mirror. I will return the router and replace it with an Asus router with the Trend Micro Home Network Security software installed. I'm familiar with the Trend Micro product. It's excellent. And as soon as it arrives my home network will be protected.
This app seems to have stopped working. It was a good app before it kept saying “something went wrong.” Can you guys fix this? I deleted the app and reloaded it. Now it is working. Still hangs from time to time. The link below led to a feedback page, but it failed.
Just installed and got the message unable to connect try again vs trouble shoot. Neither of those options eem to help
Set up parental control profiles but content filtering and internet pause literally don’t work, devices continue to have complete access to the internet. Unacceptable.
It worked fine for about a month then was unable to connect device to the router for D-link defend I don’t know if it was from the new iOS update that caused it I also tried one other iOS device to connect to the defend cloud still no luck concerning to rest the router ???
