The characters are a bit overpriced (10$ each) anyways but overall I totally recommend playing this game the songs have good rhythm and are catchy ????

Almost-

-I’ve always loved this game. I only wish I could pay for a whole story up front...

It’s a fun game, but there’s definitely too much dlc.

Please let me go home

I got Cytus 2 a few months ago, and it’s definitely a fun game. It’s ad-free, which is a plus for any free mobile game. It runs extremely smoothly, and the graphics are great. A lot of the charts are great, and some of the songs have definitely grown on me. Eventually, I got to the point where I couldn’t progress any farther without buying any song packs. That’s when the game instantly became unplayable for me. There are about 10 DLC characters, plus many song packs. Each character dlc costs about $10. That means that in order to get all content, you have to spend at least $100 dollars- not counting the extra song packs for free characters. There’s also the recently added capso system, a gacha system that gives a chance to unlock some dlc songs, in case you don’t have that much money like me. However, the capso system also costs $10 to unlock, instead of being free like most other gacha systems in free games. I wouldn’t mind this as much if the dlc were extras. Unfortunately, they all contain major parts of the main story. Basically, the game’s fun, but be prepared to spend a lot of money to get the full experience.

I love playing this game whenever I got some free time but I’m not sure what’s going on. On one of RoboHeads files it freezes and crashes the game if reinstalled the game twice and it still happens

Yes. Just, yes.

A masterpiece.

Outstanding

JSGarfinkel

I have never written a review before but this game deserves one. It’s absolutely incredible and truly one of the finest games I have ever played. The core gameplay is engaging with a perfect difficulty curve. The more you play the more your skill inches up higher and higher and there’s always another chart that was juuuuust out of reach that you can finally now full-complete (MM). The story (yes! Story!) is fantastic, full of engaging characters, deep world-building, complex themes, and unique non-traditional storytelling methods. The cutscenes are rare but are always top-notch quality when they appears. And finally, THE MUSIC. Rhythm games live or die on their music and Cytus II thrives on a *stellar* soundtrack. There’s something here for everyone and nearly every song is worthy of headphones time on it’s own even separated from gameplay. Rayark has curated an incredible collection of songs from a wide swath of genres that you will want to play again and again. This game is a masterpiece. If you have any affinity for rhythm games you will absolutely love it.

Almost perfect, but minor issues

HaX07 0MG

Let’s start on a positive note then go into the few minor to large issues alright? So this game has some amazing songs, and “most” are in a high quality format. The story is great, and it provides like 5 free stories with their own unique songs. The art, and the game when it runs is “mostly” smooth. The game is great with difficulty up to a point. The story is amazing, and nice to read (when it works). Now what are some of the issues? Like I said these are some minor, and large issues that I have encountered in the almost 7-8 months I played this game. Let’s start with that audio that the game has. Most of the time the audio quality sounds clear as daylight, but when ever they add new songs, I get the feeling the audio sounds slightly... off? Like if you listen closely on a 480p video you notice the audio sounds off. They usually update the game, and the audio does get better though. Now onto the game when you run it. This game eats battery for breakfast that’s one thing I can tell you, also that sometimes (very rarely, but still possible) you will have minor lag spikes that make you miss a note. Now this is very minor like I only had it happen three times in my 7-8 months. So now some story issues. Some of the files occasionally break, and you have to wait for the game to update. This seems to reset this files so they work. The issue is updates take a while, so you won’t be able to see these files till maybe months later. The difficulty is another topic. This enters into the area of “Is it possible to beat this?” Now I’m no expert on difficulty, but I have only been able to beat some chaos levels due to the unusual new swipe left or right note that does not appear in the previous two difficulties. This makes getting used to this new note a pain. I believe that you should at least put two or three of these tricky notes into the hard difficulty as it kinda would help familiarize a player with them. Last one is capsos. They are useless without money. You need to spend ten dollars to use them for the cool stuff like customization or unique song variants, but I do have faith they may change this in the future as they have a coming soon tab in the same menu which implies possible future methods. Ok ok last one... price... like hecka expensive. Specifically other characters. Now I will be honest that I bought the Xenon character as well as Conner because I like rock metal and classical music. But I got them on sale. Sadly for others these characters can cost almost $10’s each. This seems like a lot for just a new variety of song and some brief new story. Now there are occasional sales so usually this is not completely a issue. Man this was a lot to talk about. Sorry if I seemed like I was ranting. Anyway that’s all, and I hope you found this helpful that one person who reads these reviews. Lastly I want to say that I genuinely like this game, and hopefully you may too.
