Broken app

inflamedostrich

This app is broken. Maybe a new iOS 15 bug, but I can’t watch anything with my phone turned sideways.

App keeps crashing

litllong

Overall very happy with this app. Has all of the normal features you would expect for a streaming service but lately it keeps crashing on me. Would also like to see some more new content but most of the content is pretty good quality. Love the physics and space/cosmology stuff and there’s a good amount on here.

Changing my review, great customer service

babycat00

Update: A very nice customer service rep ending up reaching out and giving me not only what I originally signed up for, but also 3 months free. I guess it was just that one guy. But they made it right so I’m happy. I wish I could post a screenshot here. I tried to sign up with a promo code in order to get Nebula with my subscription. It clearly states you get nebula “with a subscription”. Well apparently what they really meant is you get Nebula only with an annual subscription. I emailed them and the customer service rep argued with me and told me that it doesn’t say that even though I sent a screenshot of the ad. Totally rude and unhelpful. Currently trying to get a refund. I have a feeling that it’s going to be a huge pain.

Beware of Curiosity Stream

Calsifer

Beware that the quality of the programming on this platform is IN MY OPINION decaying. In much the same way we saw The Learning Channel slowly morph it’s programming from EDUCATIONAL into “Ed-yuh-Kay-shen-el” rebranding completely into TLC (taking the learning out) and going from “Edu-tainment” right down to HONEY BOO BOO nonsense. There are still a few well made documentaries to watch, but emphasis must be placed on FEW. Maybe it’s what viewers want, but it’s certainly NOT why I subscribed to this service. This trend is disturbing to say the least.

Buggish App but Amazing Contents!

FeedMeApps

Which the app was more responsive, less lag and would not crash every few minutes. Apart from the technical issues of the app, the content itself is solid, interesting and very insightful. Hope they fix the bugs soon and waiting on more original contents. Thank you CuriosityStream team!

Crashes constantly in landscape

Thuggish Nuggets

The Video Player view in the app is very VERY unstable. Not sure how this made it out of QA regression testing, but it’s bad for an app whose entire feature-set is the video player itself.

Nice, but crashes

Good videos, but the app crashes regularly

Literally just got this to watch the mr beast documentary. I go to search beyond the spotlight it brings up a three episode lot with Samuel L and Shaq and Kristen bell, that’s it. Still not sure how many episodes there are period but, onward. Going back to the main screen I see behind the spotlight Joe Namath front and center. I figure I can tap on it and it will bring up the series page and I go from there. Nothing whatsoever for a series page just tons of things to do with that episode and that one only, random suggestions at the bottom. Go to browse and the categories are not the best. Go for broke at this point is just searching mr beast. I find it, good times. Start playing it and turn my phone sideways and the screen goes away but still audio for the first 15 seconds turn phone back up and then sideways again and we are in there but now the controls are stuck on the screen. One more up tilt and horizontal and we are watching finally with no controls and just a full screen. Two minutes later I need to pause to check my oven, tap the screen, no controls come up. Two minutes prior I couldn’t get them to go away now I can’t bring them up to revert my screen or pause or anything. At which point I just side buttoned the screen off and finished my business with the oven. Now I’m here typing this up, apps clunky for 2021 and being a content based streaming service. Reminds me of Paramount+‘s performance on PS4. I’m sure there’s tons of good content here just best of luck finding some of it and clunking your way around

Good Content, SO Buggy

musicstudent14

I wish this app worked better than it did. It’s quite buggy. Downloading videos for offline viewing almost never works, and often includes lots of app crashing. I got Curiosity Stream to watch interesting content while traveling on airplanes for work, but haven’t been able to make it past the bugs to view any content offline.

Buggy

Limited content and extremely buggy on Roku app. Have to go back to Home Screen and exit because functions such as pause, back, etc just cease to work. So have to relaunch in order to do anything or find something else to watch. Happens on all my Roku.
