Meat Slicer?

Excited about the Smokey Grill BBQ. I updated my meat slicer to the fullest and it says 4 portions at once, but I can only put 2 slabs of meat on at a time which I had already been doing with the 2nd upgrade (I think). I don't know if it's a glitch, if I'm trying to put the meat on wrong, or if I'm just confused.
Need to increase gems

Great game just need easier ways to increase gems in the higher levels maybe decrease the amount of Xp needed per level

I really like to play this game to pass time or relax. I can't think of anything to complain about. Overall, great cooking game. :)
