The best dictionary on earth

Winner-to-be

The OED is by far the best dictionary I’ve ever used. I love the extensive details, derivations, common and uncommon uses. I don’t think you could do better than this.

Excellent App. I have used it a number of times of over the years and love it. There’s comes a time, and we all experience this, when you are not sure what a word means or how it is spelt etc at a crucial time. This App turns up trumps every time?

As an English major, I come across obscure, archaic words of uncommon difficulty, with greater frequency than most people and this pocket dictionary app has been up to the challenge.

As a young student, I always thought it would be wonderful to own at set of the OED but couldn’t afford it. Now I can have it on my phone at a very reasonable price. How wonderful.

Who chooses the word of the day?

MrLimmer

Seriously, who? They are doing a piss job— “drummer”? “Misfortune”? “Sad”?? How are these words of the day?? Is this an app for a child? I wish you were expanding people’s actual vocabularies, not just letting some algorithm pull a random word.
