Superb English Dictionary

I choose the Oxford English Dictionary because I have used the hard copy for years up to and including the multi volume complete Oxford. Though expensive for an app, it simply provides the best coverage of the English language, as well as many useful examples to support definitions. I found the embedded request to review the product very irritating, especially after paying so much for the app.

It’s concise, so it serves my purpose of quickly getting the explanation I need. The source is reliable of course and the examples clear and useful.

The printed Oxford Dictionary is a wealth of information on, not only the definition, but the origin of words. This isn’t that kind of resource. The Merriam-Webster and Dictionary.com apps are much better.

I have been using this app for years. It is like a best friend who is there for you at the very moment you need them: I have a hint of a misunderstood word, I jump on the app. And life goes on with a little bit more clarity.
