Game crashes

ToddH1234

Do not buy this game until Slitherine fixes the iPad game crash issue. It simply stops working during the computer's turn, usually after 10-15 turns. You've just wasted hours. Too bad, as its a brilliant game, detailed and complex, but very easy to play. They should allow you to turn off the AI and play both sides. Tech support says to wait for an official update, but what about those of us that have already purchased the game?

Needs an 'undo' button... Fixed, thank you

Vjs1958

Ridiculous not to have the ability to undo an errant move on a touchscreen game. Especially for a game of this size. Ruins the game for me. Give me an 'undo' option and this would be a 5 star review. Revised rating from 1 to 3 stars. The game is fun but still could use an undo function. Other than that I wish air units could stack with ground units. Seems silly to have a hex with only an air unit in it unable to house a ground unit too. Revised rating from 3 to 4. Undo button finally added. Now if we could only stack air units on top of ground I'd give it 5.

Crash

The retarded monkey

New update broke it not it won't work at all for me

Freezing ruins an otherwise amazing game....

Oxtarheel

Please fix the freezing during AI moves.... And now the new version means the game won't even open....not what I expect for 20 dollars. I would like a refund

Great game. New update breaks it.

Won't even boot up without crashing entire app. iPad Air, ios7.

Good Game Broken

I liked this game but an update broke it on the iPad and the promised fix has not materialized. I can't buy another Slitherine game until I see prompt fixes for catastrophic bugs.

A Great Game - update review

Schlichter1

Not for a casual war gamer. This is very difficult, especially for Central Powers. Extremely fun and plays slightly different each time. You have to have a grand strategy on land, air, and sea to win (As Germany anyway). I'll replay now that it has significant upgrades and re-review. After re-playing the game is now much easier for the central powers. Austria - Hungry now can hold its own and Germany is much stronger at the outset. Also France will surrender if you can capture Paris within one year, instead of fighting to the literal last man as it use too. From the Allied side the game is pretty much the same except for repositioning of starting units and a slight toning down of Russian strength.

IPad Wargame Strategy At Its Best

It's amazing to see a game like this, that just a few years ago would have required a desktop PC to play, on the iPad . The whole breath of the European theater is mapped, including Iraq. Hex based and research and production are all there. Multiple land, sea, air unit types roam the map. AI is excellent, arguably the best I've seen in a military strategy game. It will falter, like all AI's (and human generals), when you penetrate behind front lines in force. But if the front lines are typical WWI, the computer will launch intelligent attacks and logical defenses. There is a multiplayer option. Unit density is relatively low, and turns move fairly quickly (and there are 118 in the Grand Campaign scenario). A blast to play for grognards. Not for the casual gamer.

Excellent Wargame

Probably the best WW 1 grand strategy game I've played on any platform! A very in-depth simulation of the entire war. It is easy to learn with the tutorial pop-ups enabled and deep enough to be challenging to even experienced war gamers.

Horrible Update: Crash

Navaronegun

Slitherine used to be a mark of quality; now this game, upon updating won't even open. I can read in the reviews that this has been a problem since the last update in May 2015. It is now October 2015. Until Slitherine begins to support it's products, I will not purchase any more of it's products.
