Good content, extremely bad support

The app is rated well, and my performance across the five areas was improving, they just have terrible response speed, and terrible tech support.

Very Rude Customer Service for an Overpriced App

Monahseetah

Frustrating and extreme rude customer service!! I was looking for a brain training app, with at least some science supporting it, which may help with Parkinson’s and other neurological symptoms. I sampled this app. The graphics are not very good in the 3 games you can try for free. The pictures are tiny, and the colors used are very similar, making it harder to see the items. Even though I wasn’t terribly impressed with the sample games, I wanted to try their other games anyway. It seems they had a little more variety than their 2 main competitors. I started receiving emails from the company offering a 40% discount on subscriptions. I attempted to use the discount to sign up. I went to the website, and was automatically redirected to the app. I tried Safari, Google, and Firefox browsers to see if it made a difference. It didn’t. Within the app, there is no way to apply the discount code. I contacted CogniFit customer service and chatted with a rep. I explained what was happening. I was told the discount codes are only useable on the website, which can only be accessed with a computer. I told her I don’t own a computer, I am also disabled and home bound. She told me to ask a family member to sign up for me through their computer. I replied this was not an option. She then said I should go to a coffee house or library. She said “it is EASY for anyone to get on a computer.” I mentioned again I am disabled and home bound and it’s not easy for me to go anywhere. After a few more insulting comments from her, and her flippant, condescending and unprofessional attitude; I told her I will be deleting the app, unsubscribing from their mailing list, and reporting this horrible customer service. This is so upsetting, especially coming from a company who’s prime customers are people with neurological issues such as Parkinson’s, post-stroke, etc. Many of us are now disabled. I was able to use a discount code through their most well know competitor (whose app I’ve been using for years) with no problem. If CogniFit can’t manage to make their own discount code work through their app, it makes me wonder about the quality of the app anyway. If the discount isn’t available through their app, fine. But to be insulted is not fine.

NOT WORTH IT

The app is really expensive, and like others have mentioned, you can get a lot of the games like mahjong and whack-a-mole for free. The thing that annoyed me the most though was that each game has a five minute time limit. The games were not that interesting to begin with and a five minute timer is just way too long. I didn’t even finish the free General Cognitive Test because I got bored and didn’t want to waste another four minutes trying to guess an 8 digit number that I knew I’d never remember.

Unresponsive and then crashed

Casey_delMar

On numerous occasions it became unresponsive while the play clock was still clicking. Then, boomed, the blank screen showed up. Crashed. Waste of time and money.

Saved me from new mom brain!

BKChanteuse

After I had my baby, I swear I would forget my head if it wasn’t attached. I’m used to being an intelligent, articulate person, and after the baby I seriously felt like I had ephasia. But after no more than a week of playing these brain games, I started to feel more focused. My concentration improved, and I felt like I was picking things up faster. I would definitely recommend this app to anyone looking to “get their brain back”!

No trial or limited free version with this

Piperwarrior II

All cellphone apps eventually want you to subscribe to them but some will provide either a trial or a limited version that you can do for free. CogniFit provides neither and wants you to subscribe from day 1. There are fortunately other apps to choose from

Amazing

My doctor recommended CogniFit to me after diagnosing me with mild cognitive impairment. Before cognifit I would be really forgetful. I would get mind pops and blank out often. Writing and reading were really hard. But after using cognifit for a while everything changed. My mind started to sharpen all of a sudden. I started remembering things again. My mind was clear and at piece. I can read write and think normally again thanks to cognifit. Some may say its expensive but I know my health is priceless.
