Not what it used to be.

Dutchanfernee

Long time Hipstamatic user since I got an iPhone in 2010. Somehow updating over years managed to rid all my purchases. Glitchy and constant crashes. This was a huge fave of mine. Don’t bother anymore. All great things must come to an end I guess.

Tried Hipstamatic after reading a New York Times photographer shot a year using their iPhone and Hipstamatic. Surprises every edit.

4.75 but rounded up.

I’ll be honest, I love this. For myself and the right friends, the artistic style and the sheer number of options are terrific. For myself and my snotty anti-art people, it still saves normal (boring) shots. It’s surprisingly flexible. Some people say they have too many options, and if that’s your problem maybe think about it carefully, but the Random feature will help you find the five or six you want (I only have 95, so... maybe I’m the one with a problem). The only REAL problems: - Occasionally the exposure freaks out and sets to very dark shots unless I set it to Automatic again. - There does not appear to a way to set a given exposure as a default (500 for instance, rather the automatically setting Automatic). - Focus occasionally goes universally blurry when switching between Wide and Tele, which can only be reset by switching to the front view and back again. - It can get... expensive.

Great app for old school pics

I love this app. It makes taking pictures fun again. With the option of switching lenses and films the options are endless. I’ve ended up with some gorgeous pictures. My only complaint is that I can’t get out of the app without shutting down my phone. Would love to see that glitch fixed.

Constantly crashes

I upgraded to 11.3 and iPhone 8 Plus. Hipstamatic crashes either on launch or immediately after taking pic. I have tried reinstalling app and clearing print query. Update: went back to old iPhone and Hipstamatic works fine on iOS 11.3 . Back on 8 plus got Hipstamatic to work, but it does crash when trying to save raw master file. It will save a jpeg master file just fine. April 20, 2018: thanks to response from developer, I upgraded to new version and now saves raw files. Thanks, I can now give Hipstamatic 4 stars. Update on June 9, 2019: In classic mode, the app will not focus when using telephoto. Today the app also failed to focus in wide angle mode while in classic mode. Any way to fix?

5 stars but..

This is by far, the greatest analog camera app that has ever done but it won’t connect to my Twitter, instagram, or to any of my social accounts. I don’t know why. Please fix this. It’s always error. I’ve managed my account. Wanted to contact you but it says my device (I’m using iPhone 7 rn)isn’t configured to send an email. What the hell!? Please I just want to upload my prints straight from the camera app. And can you restore the first filter of Kaimal Mark II? That red-to-orangy tone from how it used to look during 2010-2012ish?? Not the orange-yellow orange tone that we have right now—WE hate it and WE kinda miss its original color tone. Please restore it. Thank you #solidhipstamaticusersince2012

Can’t open on the new iPad Pro

Dr.C57

I love this app, but today tried to open it on my iPad Pro and it won’t open. Something is wrong. It still works on my iPhone. Please figure this out.

Still the best. Quick feedback

Hi Hipstamatic team. Why is the “Back to camera” button so small and so hard to press? Please make the button bigger. Thank you.

Been using the app since 2012 made me switch my android to iPhone.

I use to use Hipstamatic in 2012-2015 until I wanted to switch to android but I couldn’t stay away so I went out and bought iPhone to continue using it. It’s why I like iPhone it’s that good. Best camera app in my opinion.

❤️ Hipstamatic!

Recently revisited this app, as I’ve developed (pardon the pun) a new interest in vintage-styled photos. Absolutely love what these retro-flavored filters can do to my average photos! So much fun to apply various filters, lenses, etc. and see what I can create. Plus, love being able to edit my photos on iPad Pro in landscape mode. Hipstamatic has come a long way since years ago when I first downloaded it. Highly recommended for those who love retro style!
