I have been using this app for a week and it is the best app I have found for learning to play chess. I enjoy the fact that they set up a chess game in progress and ask you to decide the next move. If you are right you move to the next situation. You stay on each game until you correctly move the piece. You can play a game or learn tactics, openings, end play. There is much more if I decide to make any in app purchases. This is just what I have been looking for. It also make the learning process fun.

My touchscreen works fine with all apps, but with this app doesn't register anything on the right quarter or so of the screen, making it essentially unusable. Very disappointing- hope the bug is fixed si I can use it.

A well built app for beginners that starts off extremely easy and ramps the intensity up when your ready. It has improved my tactical vision of the game after a couple of months. Well worth the 7.99
Good but with a major flaw

Would be a five-star app but the Crafty engine plays extremely poor moves and is utterly useless for playing out the training problem lines.
